it lives again!

god these things supercharged are slow as ****.... M62 FTL!!!.
after 3 months, a bunch of late nights in the garage, my little cobalt has been brought back to life.
all went well except for the exhaust fire (3-4 quarts of oil and @2 gallons of anti-freeze went through the exhaust when she blew). it went pretty smooth.
and side note, don't tear your car down when hammered, it took more time to find the parts then it took me to put the car together lol.
Big thanks to qwikredline for supplying the motor

Nice. How are you running the M62? 2.9? Power estimate of the rx7?

lol, it is terrible.
rx-7 on 9psi and a base tune is faster than this thing.(rx I am shooting for 500-525whp on pump gas and meth).
car definitely won't be getting a tvs. if anything I might put a stock 09ss/tc turbo setup in it over the winter with nitrous.
Jeep is shot, motor is knocking a bit at 287,950 miles now lol (it's a 2000). Need to overhaul that thing over the next few weeks, new suspension, new motor and trans mounts, new radiator, rewire the dash..... the fun never ends.

You need any parts? lol I have pauter rods, nuetral shafts, and some diamond pistons, along with golden eagle head studs and a cometic hg I need to get rid of.

whats the point in giving up, it's too easy lol.
I don't mind a challenge, like trying to get traction in a 500+whp fwd car

They once confused the 06blacks and was like "wtf first its 400, then its 500... what is he gonna have 600hp next??"..

the answer was "yes... yes he is.."

i'm not out to make any one cry, or upset, or anything.

its just the fruits of the many, many hours and dollars i've spent on the car.

to be honest, the power level will be dropping this next summer and my new turbo of choice is lesser in flow, but it'll be much more linear and provide more mid-range torque.

yeah if I would do it again, it would definitely be more towards driveability than all out power. Infe's gt3076 setup is more of my liking. Car cruises so nice compared to mine.
I do miss the crazy asspower, like doing rolling burnouts from 80+mph.

i dont need anything rite now, per say, but i might some time!

i just like seeing my go-fast parts used again to......go fast. duh.

i'll take a look, it might be on a local car but i think i kept it.

the power wars are over in my eyes. part of my push to go bigger was paul. now i'm after making the car a bit more linear in deliverable. just for another challenge.

my spec cams, smaller turbo, new diff, new clutch.

Yeah I went to a spec 2+ clutch w/fidenza flywheel, exedy too much for city traffic.
I think we both pushed each other lol. It was a fun ass battle while it lasted. I was coming after your 586whp when I blew it up, was getting ready to do a sp6262 setup on the car over the winter. Oh well, at least I have the rx to play with.

But definitely let me know on the blower, I got into it a little last night and the **** was so slow I almost cried.

what's smog legal lol. Cat's are for dogs to chase.

I have a vibrant long tube header, and hahn 3" catback (car is loud as ****).

it'll be fun for weaving through bumper to bumper traffic in the bronx

Haha, it's fun setting off alarms...

High patrol out here doesn't play games with us.

They try so hard, they once told me my stock catback was illegal lol.

lol yeah trix got an exhaust ticket with the stock exhaust.
I'll probably be tossing on a stock catback shortly as I'll be using the car as my daily for a while and can't afford anymore tickets.

no kidding... not when your blowing money on mods you can't lol

btw.. i started a thread on placing the meth nozzles to spray directly into the head. basically placing the nozzles into the intake manifold endplate. its in the 2.0 tech section.

any input on that?

actually we are looking to do an almost direct port meth setup on infe's car in the next few weeks usuing the hahn intake portfueler provisions for meth, probably use a direct port nitrous distribution block and go from there.
I was going to do it on my car, but alas it went boom.

rx-7 is getting 2 setup's one straight water pre-turbo to increase efficiency, and a smaller meth only nozzle at the throttle body to further cool and add the octane. should be interesting.
