LNF piston rings in an LSJ?

Please forgive my ignorance but...Would that work? I keep seeing all the prices for LSJ parts being astronomically higher in comparison to LNF parts. Just to save some money and possibly have a better part, would that work without having anything go wrong?

Call total seal, tell them what you want and they will get you hooked up. I wouldn't run anything else. And its not lsj vs lnf rings. They are both boosted cars. It depends on your cylinder bore and piston size

I have stock LSJ pistons with a S20G turbo pushing 15lbs so I'm at least trying to get a little insurance on something...I know I should upgrade the pistons but I just can't afford to right now.

Because they are cheaper and I figure they are made for higher boost levels.

there is a difference in ring sets between the lsj and the lnf (lnf has a bigger oil ring then lsj) the lnf parts are made in usa that is why they are cheaper the lsj parts are made in Germany I believe hastings has a set of rings that will fit the stock lsj pistons but if your going in the engine that far your better off re sleeving and replacing the pistons with better parts

You shouldn't be worried at all on 15 pounds from an 20g, the LSJ is a very strong motor

I can't afford anything right now. My loan money had to unfortunately go to other things. I just need to get the car up and running I have a broken oil ring in the first cylinder so I'm trying to fix that with what I can at the moment.

I doubt it is a broken ring more like a piston

1st cylinder is 15 lbs low on compression and it's burning oil not too terribly bad.
