ZZP Stage 3 kit

So I have been doing some research on this site reading about results and possible issue some people have had with stage kits, after reading a ton of info and finally finding a reliable tuner in town I have made the decision to pull the trigger and purchase a stage kit from ZZP, it seems to be the best bang for the buck. Especially with the heat exchanger and endplate being included.
I want to use the 60# Siemens injectors to stick with 93 octane, 2.9 pulley and adjustable tensioner. I was going to use a AEM Uego Wideband gauge for AFR's but what I really am a little confused about is what is going to be the IAT's,is the HPT software going to be the only thing to show those temps? I know the lsj uses the 2 bar map to read temps but honestly im just a little nervous with the Texas heat that my tuner will maybe miss calculate that into the actual tune. and honestly I want to keep away from meth.

Any suggestions or pre install cautions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Agreed and if your worried about iats then get a interceptor so u can monitor them but on a 2.9 should not have to worry much with the things u plan on getting

get a wideband and interceptor. wideband for air/fuel monitoring and interceptor can check everything... CELs, knock, iat2 temps. Those last 2 are the most important imo.

If you're in SA, talk to Ben from GMSA. Are you using a tuner that's not from Texas? If so, I'm honestly not sure why considering that there's lots of reputable tuners in Houston and San Antonio.

I been reading more about the interceptor, it seems like a great tool, my biggest thing is to have the necessary gauges since I want to daily drive it with a hard pull every now and then. Aeroforce seems like the one most cobalt owners use, so ill definitely grab that,
I know ben he unfortunately is a very busy guy, I would love for him to tune it but I know his time is strict and the tuner I found has experience with HPT and can give me a whole day of non stop tuning. The IAT's just scare me in general not so much saying that this tuner will not pay attention since he is from Texas too and understood my concern.
Im still working on my complete build sheet, and Mr. B if there are better deals point me in the right direction lol I would jump on them

He is saying you could purchase all the "stage 3 kit" parts used on here if you look around. With the 2.9 pulley dont worry too much about IAT2s. As long as you get dual pass option B and a FMHE and you make sure you have a functioning intercooler pump you will be fine. Honestly I would just get the kit. Its not terribly expensive and you have everything at once. Make sure to get a good tune and you will be happy with the results. Best of luck!

I did think about going that route, I know there are some real good deals out there but not to sounds rude I would just prefer to have new parts, looks like the only thing I need to get Is the option b tank, that kit is pretty much everything.
would you guys suggest maybe getting a 2.8 with the 60#'s?

When I was runing ZZP stage 3 with my 2.9 I didn't need the adjustable tensioner. I got it later with my TVS and smaller pulley

with a dual pass and heat exchanger you should be ok temps wise. invest in an option b setup as well

with rotated mounts you want to keep the stock upper engine mount to allow for the rotation of the engine.

What kind of obd2 device do you use? I had one, and also used torque app but the one I had was junk and stopped working.

If your in the market for the interceptor check with josh at Ottp and he may have one for sale, not sure of he's still doing the inventory clear out or not tho. People have had their issues with Ottp in the past but I've order parts from him with no issues, in fact just got my short shifter from him and a lot sooner than I was expecting.

He is. Just asked him about them and he's got 30+ left for under 200 bucks. Wished I could have snatched mine up and got it shipped with my other order but I don't have the funds handy :/
