Thumbs down local muffler shop

i walked into the local mufflers shop today to get a o2 bung welded in for my wideband. they wanted $80, i turned around and walked right out. is it me or is that way to high of a price. now i have a friends dad doing it for free.

Shops charge way to much money. On my balt I was quoted $350 to install lowerin springs! Thats when I learned to do it myself I think some shops will rape anyone who dont know what a fair price is.

Update: **** your in maryland I would have welded your bung for ya.

local shop i always go to did it for free, walked in with the header, they welded the bung, walked out withing 5mins...didnt even have to reach for my wallet

yea thats bs... i went to a muffler shop last week to get 2 spots welded on my 3" exhaust...took them 30mins and $70....80 just for a 02 bung is bs

i work at a shop and yes that is very high BUT was the shop going to take the downpipe off for you and reinstall it. if so they may have wanted the 80 because they planned on replacing the gaskets. if they dont and it leaks its now on them unless they make you aware it may leak before hand. and also there out to make money lol
