It would be one thing if that were true, but sadly anyone who has ever heard one of these headers can attest to.....they arent equal length. And of course all those bends ruin scavenging.

but at the horse power levels we are at, will the anti scavaging effect really be noticed?

yup equal length helps the scavenging effect.

the point of the jbp "vortex" is to have a full lenght header in a shorty desing ,so you could still use the stock down pipe...

i always thought it was kinda silly, . whats the point of going full lenght but keeping the restrictive down pipe , and if you get rid of the down pipe/or cat and or replace it ,why not spend less money on a noraml mid/full lenght header/down pipe combo.

another thing that i wondered was, if its equal length why dose it sound so WRXy, cause unequal length is what normaly gives you that lumpy sound .my guess would be since each primay has difrent bends and diffrent number of bends , each primay probly has a diffrent flow rate despite being equal length, wich kinda defeats the point.

I bought either the racing solutions or CA, not sure I bought of a company on ebay. The header looks closer to the CA V2 header but came with the gaskets like the racing solutions header. All I know is it only costed me $189 shipped and so far is great. I cleaned up some of the welds on the inside of the header but otherwise great

I bought this header off the cobalt addiction ebay store. It looks great. The weld quality is fantastic.

Exactly what I was pointing out. People love the Vortex because it gives you that "WRX" sound.....that distinctive WRX sound comes from the awkward unequal length Suby exhaust.....This is why WRXs sound the way they do:

Does that look equal length?

ever hear a WRX with a true equal length system? It doesnt sound like a WRX....LOL

i never said it was ,i used it as to why the vortex ,despite being made up equal lenth primarys ,dosnt flow the same as an equal lenght , and thats proven by the sound .

The tubes on the header, specifically the primaries on cylinders 1 and 4, the two outside pipes don't look like they are equal length at all... i wouldn't buy a header without making sure it was equal length why waste money on a header that isn't going to make much of a difference when you could spend the money and get a header designed to make power? and that shiny coating is just a ceramic coating...why would they ceramic coat a stainless header? maybe it isn't stainless

The tubes on cylinders 1 and 4 are equal length. The header is not ceramic coated it is polished stainless. There are a couple pictures of the CA V2 header that show unequal length tubes however the pictures are incorrect. They have pictures of the header on the block, those are accurate pictures. The header comes with a lifetime guarentee against leaks. I am happy with it.

sorry didn't read the whole description of the header, it just doesn't look like it would be worth the money when you can buy a quality part that you know is going to work like the CA header, the JBP header or the ZZP shorty.

How can you say you don't know if its going to work?? I personally have the one for the 2.2 and it is a high quality piece! racing solution test fitted both of these headers before releasing them.. They DO work..

Here are some pics of my CA V2 Header. I am not saying it is better then a long tube or JBP. I am saying it is a quality stainless shorty header.
I know that some of the pictures on the CA sight show different patterns, but I bought this header from them.
