Looking to purchase a Cobalt SS!

Hello, as the title states I'm looking into purchasing a Cobalt SS supercharged. I'm coming from a Dodge SRT-4 but I'm selling it soon as I won't be able to pay it off before I go back to school full time in the fall, and I'd figured I'd buy a Cobalt for about 8 or 9k if I can find one. Plus they seem like more reliable cars in terms of quality. I do have a couple of questions concerning these cars as I am not very familiar with them. I know these might be answered elsewhere on the forums already but I'm looking for consolidation of them on here.

1.) What are some common problems on some of these cars?

2.) Coming from a turbo vehicle I'm familiar with compressor surge, does that exist on the supercharged engine?

3.) Is there a rule regarding part throttle boost?

4.) I know the difference between an 05 and 06+ is the addition of the LSD correct? What other differences are there?

Also, if anyone on here is from Oklahoma and knows something about this car 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe I'd appreciate you telling me what you know about it...

I think that might be it for now, if I think of more questions I'll post them on here. Thanks in advance!

Lsd would be discovered in the trunk under the mat on the id plate driver side of the vehicle marked as G85, I do believe recaro seats came in the earlier G85's and stopped early 07 and just equipped with two tone middle perforated leather.

Clutchs can be common, roll pin linkage is a common issue, sun roof trim/button assembly & housing(personal experience), dealerships if (any warranties exist) there are more I cannot think of right this moment well other than body/front bumper alignment, high rise spoiler rattling leather around shifter knob.

Thats about my .02 cents and I'm not sure so don't quote me but I don't think compressor surge is involved well at least from what I have read on so far could be wrong though.

Wow, are there really that many things that could go wrong with these cars? Not trying to bash or anything but those really aren't the responses I was expecting to get.

The car you posted is missing it's sunroof switch bezel (not surprising), the headlights don't match (one has orange reflector thing behind the turn signal bulb, one doesn't) which could mean it's been in an accident, something you might look into. It does not have LSD, 2005, 2006, and very early 2007s that have LSD also have recaro seats.

Good eye man I missed that completely. Sigh, it's looking more and more like I might be trying to pay off the skittle and keep it...

Well I'm really not looking for what's faster anymore. I just wanted to be able to sell my car and pay it off and buy the Cobalt and still have some money left over... Soo, bad move?
And believe it or not there aren't any for sale around here other than that one so that's the only reason I was considering that one...

My cobalt is faster than his Srt-4, But I have heard they have a fairly stout transmissions and I'm good at breaking transmissions.

I'd say the biggest issue the cobalt sc had is owner/operator related.

I dunno. i haven't really had any problems with mine. The only major thing was the cheap Timing Chain Tensioner broke and i had it replaced under Warranty. So far my Cobalt has been a great car. The only thing i regret was not buying the color of choice. I wanted either a Victory Red or Sunburst orange...sadly I got Rally Yellow as there were none in my price range.
