Loss of Power with Exhaust

I just installed the GMPP sport exhaust and I have noticed a loss in power. I doesn't pull as hard as it used to. Theres more hesitation. Is this normal? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance!

You shouldn't see a loss of power at all. That is strange.

Check to see if you installed it backwards

Maybe he lost a little low end torque with the exhaust.

I would look into the cat being clogged and possible exhaust leaks.

Yeah, i'm gonna check it for leaks. That's what I was thinking. Sometimes it pulls harder than others though.

I just installed my GMPP performance exhaust today also and i noticed the same thing, along with a clunking from the front end when i leave a stop and am turning. I kind-of figured there would be a little loss or low end torque because of less restriction but its a little more than i figured.

Where did you purchase your exhaust? Maybe we got a bad batch.

I had a loss of low end torque when I installed my header back exhaust but thats because I have 3inch exhaust. I don't see there being a noticable loss with the GMPP exhaust.

The only thing that I can think of is a leak.

Well, I noticed it right after I installed the exhaust. So I doubt that the cat could have got clogged the same time I installed the exhaust.

Oh btw, your avatar is hilarious. Where did you get it?

I only have 13000 miles on my car. It shouldn't be clogged already.

Just to say, people have had their cat get clogged with far less than 13000 miles on the car. The SS/SC runs pig rich, which kills cats pretty damn quick.

I actually got it from a friend of mine. He had it for like 5 months or so. And my car has 3,000 miles on it so i doubt the cat is clogged. I'm gonna put it up in the air at work and check for leaks. We checked before we put the car on the ground but i suppose something could have loosened up just enough while driving.
