Loud sound coming from engine

So Earlier I posted a thread where I said I went over a speed bump too fast and broke one of the heat exchanger clip's off, well I got home from work and was going to get under it to see what clip I needed and when I started the car...I noticed a very loud clicking sound coming from the engine. It didn't do it this morning when I parked the car, but i don't know what the problem could be...could it be the heat exchanger pump?

where is the clicking coming from? Is it a fast clicking sound? The timing chain tensioner is shitty on cobalts and goes bad and the engine makes a ticking noise. The supercharger can make a ticking noise too. Need more info

firewall is the body wall behind the engine

So is the noise coming from the back side of the motor

A video would help if possible. if it sounds like a chain rattling against metal, its the timing chain tensioner

sounds like timing chain but also sounds like a bad snout bearing some what.... i had a m62 that had a timing chain tensioner issue sound lole so get a stethescope and then find it, a stethescope is a pinpointer to find noises lol go to the local auto store to find it.

Have it towed. Sure, you might make it, but if something goes wrong involving the timing chain it could be very bad. Like FUBAR bad. Not worth the risk. You probably have free towing through your insurance company, almost all offer it for like a dollar a month. Good luck, hope its just the tensioner.

yeah you will be fine. I drove for a a few thousand miles before I replaced my timing chain tensioner. dealership should do it under warranty if thats the problem. But like chevycobaltss3 said the snout bearing on the m62 can go bad and make a ticking sound. to me yours sounds more like the m62 bearing but I could be wrong

Does it go away when it's warm .... or does it only happen at cold start in the morning? I'm guessing timing chain tensioner just because thats expactly what mine sounded like on my SS/SC .

Hey chevyss3 , if it was a snout bearing would it come and go ? Or be constant?

If it were a snout bearing it would more likly beconstant but ive seen a fe that would only make that sound when at idle and when at a rev down.
