every dyno is different

every dyno is different
unless these are done on the same dyno the numbers are meaningless.

indeedy...some are load and non-load dyno's. Just work with what u have. Do you have a baseline run to compare with?

also do you have a baseline before you did the stage kits?

or....
like everybody has been saying somethings wrong with your cat.
You did NOT see that with the STG1. I am talking strictly STG1 on the SS/SC
Blackonblack (thread starter) has STG1 nowhere was STG2 mentioned

Stage 1 still gives you a 7000 rpm redline, thus allowing you to make more before the car's power is limited by redline again. The bigger injectors and tune included with the kit may not yield a big increase in power, but it does increase your power and sets you up for a pulley upgrade for a definate increase in power. His 2.9" pulley should have given him a definate increase in power.

Something is wrong with his cat, and I bet that's the cause of his loss of power.

Complete BS.

I went from just a CAI and barely being able to hit 14.0x@99 (never being able to trap 100+), to 13.69@102 with JUST S1 + the CAI from before.

I think you'll see 10-15whp at least in both cars, which is noticable and definitely worth it. S1 opens the doors on both cars to other power increasing mods as well.

Ive seen a few guys dyno around 190-195 on a Mustang Dyno stock. I dynoed stage 2 (only mod) at 222. Huge improvement if you ask me.

I think what Silver is trying to say about the stage 1 Cobalts is that the kit, while giving you the higher redline and *peak* power, the area under the curve hardly changes at all. All that extra horsepower you see is 90% the result of the extra 500 rpm. The smaller pully with stage 2 is what gives you a boost throughout the entire powerband.

Sorry guys, I didn't get a baseline. My baseline was going to be with the mods I have on now. Then I was going to test the difference with the 3 inch cat back and the header next to see the gains from those two pieces seperatly. The company I am testing these two parts for wants to know the gains from them, so that is really the only reason I am dynoing my car.

And as far as the stage kit reflashes go, I have spoke with numerous gm people and they did say both reflashes are the same. So I should at least be seeing 241hp according to GM.

I am going to try to get the cat replaced this week and re-dyno.

Now I am getting a p0420 error once and a while which is "catalyst system efficiency below threshold (Bank1)". Do you guys think that is the reason for the low numbers? I dynod with the 3.15 and the max was the same with the 2.9. But, I did gain 15hp throughout the power band. I am just really frusturated that the car is putting out less hp with these mods than some stock cars.

Now I know that all dynos are different but that number seems a bit low. All of my pulls were in third. Any suggestions?????
get the intense kit

ask any real racer guys..... any real racer.

hahahahha
so bigger injectors and an ECU reflash is pointless. thx for the info. ... and of course the stage 2 pulley is pointless aswell.

on a serious note: those numbers seem low... but you need to have a baseline b4 u post up anything like this. for all you kno, the car gained 100hp (exagerating). does the car 'feel' faster?

The car actually felt a bit faster for a little while but now it seems slower. I know I should of gotten a baseline but I didn't want to spend the money. But I had to dyno the car to test the two products for this manufacture and my so called baseline seemed really low to me. I have a new cat on the way and I hope to see if that was the cause. Who knows.
