Your friend is wrong. It was still an option. The only thing deleted was the Recaros, and that was done half way thru the build year

G85 is still an option for 07, the earlier 07's came standard with the recaros, then they(the recaros) became an option with g85, but even without the recaro's the g85 is offered and still has LSD, its kinda confusing

You have it. But if you want to make sure just lift the carpet in the trunk(by the sub) and look on the sticker thats there, It should say G85.

OK, I have to clear this up:

1) Recaros never came standard with any Cobalt SS ever
2) The Recaro seat/LSD package was discontinued early in the model year 2007
3) After the Recaro seats were no longer available, you could still order LSD as an option, but it was not standard. (Recaro seats were deleted when GM introduced a new under-seat sensor that the Recaro seats could not accomodate)

So:

You have Recaros = You have LSD
You have LSD (2006) = You have Recaros
You have LSD (2007) = You MAY have Recaros

In other words:
You have regular SS seats (2005-2006) = You do NOT have LSD
You have regular SS seats (2007) = You MIGHT have LSD
You have a Cobalt SS/SC (2006-2007) = You MIGHT have LSD
