lsj build thread

ok so the stage two set up with full bolt ons was a fun 260whp and what not but i fucked up a piston and well i miss riding in a 400+ hp car soo im getting on the lsj turbo bandwagon and trading it for a differnt car sounds dumb because its just about payed off. im in afghanistan and have money to spare so yea wish me luck on 450whp and 93 octane

things im going to buy

zzp turbo kit with 252et maybe the s256
clutch, not sure which one to get
some sort of fuel system.

recently bought items to come home to after deployment

-engine
Mishimoto Carbon Fiber Oil Catch Can
diamond forged pistons/ teflon side and ceramic top coatings, and the pistons rings to go with
arp head studs
mls head gasket
80# injectors thanks to kburroughs08

-look good items
eyelids thanks to GSDIESEL300
glowshift wideband tinted series
glowshift boost gauge tinted series
glowshift oilpressure gauge tinted series
bride low max zeta III (debating weather to put it in the ss or s13)

mods i have already

2.9 pulley on fully ported m62
3" zzp intake
42lb injectors
msr knock offs
sportline springs

got rid of all my other go fast parts for the turbo build =D

ideas and help are very much welcomed and so are the trolls haha.

your post is confusing. You say you are getting on the turbo lsj bandwagon and selling the car? Then you post a build list.

No need to insult, just the way you worded it was a bit confusing. Also there are more then a few that built their LSJ turbo then sold it. Been on this forum 4 years and seen it a few times like

With the head being off I would go ahead and get it ported/valve job. I would also swap out the stock rods.

Add springs/retainers at a minimum, so later on if you want cams you don't have to pull the head again.

Hmm, I would also go with the S256et. 400-450whp gets boring after a while.

If you're gonna build the bottom end I highly suggest having it sleeved. You could be risking your build if the sleeves fail.

There are a few people that will tell you 400WHP will hold up on a stock motor. It's a judgment call. If it were me I would take care of the sleeves if you are gonna put in better/stronger pistons and other things. With the increased power IF something fails it will go to the next weakest link. In the case of our motors it's also the sleeves. Mine failed #4 at just 20 psi and none of my pistons should signs of abnormal wear.
