My 2006 LSJ suddenly became boostless. To troubleshoot - at first I fiddled with the bypass valve - and applied a vacuum at the upper side port - and the linkage moved freely and smoothly. Then I checked this forum for further insight on what to try next. The next suggestion was to pinch off the hose from the BPV (the lower port) to the BPV solenoid. So - with some vise grips - I pinched off the hose - and took a test drive. WOW - the boost was back. Time to order a replacement BPV solenoid.

IW vacuum to BPV - linkage moved smoothly and freely I used vise-grips to pinch hose between BPV and solenoid. Test drive resulted in full boost. Solenoid -on order.
