Hey guys my friend is having a problem when he refuels his car it revs to about 2k then either nearly dies out or shuts off and it only happens when he puts gas in and he says it happens where he refuels when he is low or has a quarter left. His mods are 2.7 ottp tune intake, highflow cat.

Is his check engine on?...I had that problem, It turned out to be a evap emissions purge celinoide valve or somthing or other. It sits right on top of the motor on the valve cover its a little box with 2 hoses connected to it. might be your problem

 

bet it's his fuel filter or pump

for some unknown reason people don't change out the fuel filters on a regular basis

 

EVAP purge solenoid

a fuel filter or pump would be a constant issue. EVAP issues usually arise on fuel fill ups

Where would i get one from? (that's not the stealership)
How do I replace it?
What does it do?

My main ones are the 2nd and 3rd but the last one is out of curiousity.


Edit: he also has a code for the crank position sensor and he had a random misfire.

 

Bump for day crew i've been doing some searching on the crank sensor and i keep getting mixed prices on how much the part is i've seen from 20-100. Thanks.

 

?? 2.7 and a tune. i think he might have more issues here soon if thats all he has to support a 2.7

 

he has 60's i was just rushing when i typed the op i was just stating those are his only power mods and the funny thing is i knew after i typed it up someone would mention something
