why would we want to get a catback when we already have a 3 inch pipe from the manifold back!? why not just go buy a high flow muffler and get the same effect?
(we as in SS/SC owners)

Because we only have a 2.5" exhaust, not a 3".

The stock system is crush bent not the magnaflow first and foremost.

Second crush bent means they crumple the inside of the bend in order to bend the pipe... It doesn't flow as good and doesn't look as good.

Mandrel doesn't crumple the inside of the bend.

Also the inner diameter of the pipe in a crush bent system is smaller at the bends where as with mandrel it's maintains the inner diameter at the bends.

So when your exhaust gas hits a bend the pipe (with a crush bent) gets smaller and the exhaust has to slow down on the way out.

crush bent is also refered to as press bent, and you lose about a 1/4 in in each bend

i'm not a big fan of magnaflow. I am waiting to hear a sound clip from borla, and i hope that flomaster comes out with one soon. I love their sound so if they keep up the good work, they have my sale.

I made my own custom magnaflow cat back with 3" piping and a round magnaflow 3" inlet , 4" tip. it looks bad ass between the stock valance. fits perfect and flush. I shall take pictures of the setup. with the piping and muffler. it was $200 and I got the muffler from magnaflow online.
