Magnaflow exhaust

I'm sure it's been disscused but i'm looking at the magnaflow exhaust thats for sale at a web site i shop at www.pfyc.com and was wondering for the price do you think the magnaflow exhaust is worth it?

Heres the web site page and pic's:
http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...ory_Code=CBEXH

Heres the magnaflow page with the sound clips and dyno sheet:
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=Sport&id=983

I had to use internet explorer cause firefox wouldn't load the plug in.

What do you guys think about the sound clips? And 7 Hp and 13 TQ from and exhaust isn't bad don't you think? I mean i hate to estimate to much but you figure

Hp Tq
K&N Intake: 8 7
Exhaust: 7 13
totals
15 hp 20 tq

Even if you go from the stock #'s that from 205 hp to 220 hp and 187 tq to 207 tq.
Now theres alot of hoping and wishing that when you put these parts on you will get the full gains from them but like i said this is all speculation. Than either you psi-fi piggy back it with the pulley or you just throw on the gm stage one kit which i belive was suposed to be 25 hp and 20 or 25 tq i believe and i dont think the cobalt is sitting to bad with those numbers. prices though..........
k&n intake :$240 Exhaust: $611 Piggy back or gm stage one kit $500 = $1351 ouch! But hey I've got to look at the big picture I've spent tons more money on my auto 2.4 old's alero over time trying to make it fast and i never broke a 15.4 in the quater mile.

I am considering this is well. But man I just wish I had more $$. Money is the only problem here, crap is so expensive. The sound of this is really growing on me, but 600 bucks is kinda steap. Not to mention the GM stage upgrades will most like give the most bang for the buck. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet.

yeah i hear what your saying but I've had some bad experiences with trying to do a custom exhaust . 4different setups 3 different shops when i had my 2.4 alero. The thing is you don't know what your gonna get till they start the car. I rather spend the money with a comapany thats already tested everything and has premade stuff. I found out on my second exhaust setup that i had 2 1/4 piping in some places and as little as 1.75 in other. I mean at first glance you can't see **** like that. Its just not worth the head headache IMO any more. And I also find it funny every now and then when someone has a custom setup and swears by it then they post a vid of what it sounds like and the listeners rag on it like no tomm about how bad it sounds. But hey i guess everything is a gamble in someway or another.

I think the exhaust sounds pretty good. Clean too which I like . Not really a fart can sound. Any other companies going to be coing out with exhaust systems that I should wait for and listen too.

I'm just trying to come to some conclusion as to what size piping is ideal for this car. Most big names (Borla, Magnaflow) are using 2.5 inch the smaller guys (AA, custom tubes) are using 3 inch. 2.5 is overkill on a bolt on N/A 4 cylinder so can the more experienced shed some light?

I would not buy it just yet still to much because they are the only one with a cat back system out the price will go down after a while. Like the magnaflow exhaust for an eclipse is 399 in some places. After borla and dc sports comes out with one the price will go down.

I see what you are saying for the 2.2L and 2.4L guys that 2.5" would be overkill for them, but for us 2.0L S/C guys 2.5" or 3" is perfect for our cars....

That is my question, 2.5 or 3? Bigger is not always necessarily better, just wondering if 3 inch has any negative effects on a motor that will not have any head work except maybe cams.I figure that 2.5 inch is good to about 300 whp? FI is where I get a little lost because most of what I know applies to NA cars.

I'm not up on exhaust but from what I have gathered and understood that for boosted cars (turbo's and sc) having a larger exhaust is better, meaning 3". Anything more than that probably would result in hp loss.

It depends on the flow rate of the exhaust ... there was a recent post about it ... having a large 3" exhaust doesn't mean it's better and doesn't mean it will get more flow. I think the 2.5" borla would be a decent choice and this Magnaflow shouldn't be a bad buy either. Depends on flow
