magnaflow exhaust pics

well I got my exhaust (2.5 inch, high flow magnaflow) today from mandrelexhaustsystems.com.. got it installed one time, installation went good except I had to modify it a bit for it to fit well, at first the flange by the cat wasn't fitting so nice so we cut it off and had it welded. then the tip was too far under the car so we had to cut off the ears for the robber to hold and weld it back in a different position so the tip could be seen from behind. I have it now without a resonator and it's very loud so I'm installing the resonator next week, though my friends like how it sounds now hehe.. but I prefer to have it a little quieter.. here are some pics of the old and then new exhaust.

this is the old exhaust, here is where we had to cut in order to get this old one off.

here it wasn't fitting so well so this is where the modification of the ears for rubber took place

Glad it worked out...

that resonator will give it a nice deep tone...

It will be like your own $500 exhaust.

i really want one of these, but after seeing the hassle you had getting it to fit right im having second thoughts, is this pretty common? i was hoping to get it and just spend an afternoon tackling the project myself. definitely need vids!

A few have stated the same thing on these systems.

For the value they are a good unit, not being a fan of aluminized steel, which rusts, stainless would be the prefered choice. Stainless comes stock on the cobalt, so in a way it is downgrading..

wasn't really a hassle, any exhaust you buy is a direct bolt on, I just prefer welding it on. advantage is, if you hit it under your car it's less likely to come loose... the flange where you had to bolt it up would have fit after some time but to save the hassle we cut it off and welded it up...

but it's worth it, don't have that raspy sound like other exhausts for this price..

im getting ready to buy the same kit but my thought is hit it with a high temp black paint that will protect the system from rust or atleast the outside from rust lol

I think I will. If nothin else, I'll make it fit lol. I just hope this isn't one of those deals where "you get what you pay for" and it's actually a decent product that isn't gonna fall off the bottom of my car

well i dont think thats the case magnaflow is good stuff but if i were you i would save up and just buy the stainless like i am.. yes its more but u wont have rusted out pipes in two years.. even if you do paint the outside with rust protector you still have to worry about the condinsation inside the exhuast that will cause it to rust inside out

stainless steel is perfect.. but I don't care... when I have more money to spend I can just get the stainless steel for now atleast I have an exhaust... besides I plan on getting a turbo cobalt by next year.

i had a few questoins about this exhaust the company sells so i called them the first time and left a message with my question. the second time i left them an email both of these were left or sent over a week ago and still no reply.. i dont get it how can companies have no customer support when they say theres is so good.. i will not be purchasing from this company.. what happens when you get the wrong system???? if someone who wants to give them money cant get ahold of them whats it goin to be like when some one who has already givin them money tries getting ahold of them.. just my two cents
