Magnaflow muffler question

I have a question for you guys/gals with just a magnaflow muffler. I am pretty sure I want to go with a Magnaflow Street Series muffler with a double wall angle cut tip with a single outlet but they come with different size tip lengths (4" and 7" for sure and i think they make others). I like the look of the 5" x 8" oval more than the round body mufflers but clearance looks like it will be tight.

If anyone has this style muffler I was wondering which size tip you got. I just want to make sure it will mount up with no problems.

Also, can anyone give any information regarding the street series versus the race series on a Cobalt SS/SC. I don't want it to be too loud. On my last car i had an SLP Catback on an alero and it got to be annoying it was so loud, so i don't want to get something super loud.

I don't want to go with a full catback i just want a muffler for the sound and maybe a little boost in power also.

Thanks for the help,

Joe
