mandrel exhaust systems

So I'm looking into buying an exhaust system from mandrel exhaust systems and I was wondering how off are they normally on the fitment because I have heard multiple times that they have issus with that. And does anyone have the magnaflow increased airflow muffler I don't like borla and I have heard the other style of magnaflow muffler and was wondering what difference in tone it has.

if you've heard multiple times they have issues, why would you want to buy it anyway?

I think the magnaflow mufflers sound the best on our cars.

I've been curious about their exhaust systems as well. People who've bought the system, please report what you've experiened with them. I need exhaust, and I'm not spending a million dollars on it.

gmpp touring sounds the absolute best, but piping is 2.25"

started mine up the other day with zzp header/dp no cat (both coated thick with aluminized ceramic) into a new magnaflow catback and it sounds effin great. but i liked the quietness of the gmpp more cause i'm old and stuff

for the OP,

I have had the car since it was brand new off the showroom floor with less than 10 miles on it in '05. i helped TOG with their header/downpipe (which was a complete disaster cause the ******* didn't listen to me) i've had the pacesetter with no cat dp, the exhaust depot dp with extra resonator(this dp was also a POS) into a custom exhaust with a flowmaster 40 series (this thing droned so effin bad and sounded like ****) then on to the gmpp touring with both an oem manifold, oem downpipe and TOG header with oem downpipe and now with the new zzp setup and magnaflow catback

after all of those, i still stand by my word that the gmpp touring, without a question, is the best sounding exhaust with oem or aftermarket parts. If you do decide to go with a 2.5" system like the magnaflow, make sure you get a hefty coat of ceramic on the header and dp so that the heat stays in and it keeps the velocity high so it runs through the resonator faster and cancels more sound. if you don't wrap or coat the stuff, it's going to slow down and more drone/rasp will come from it

And also I left out, that I had it welded, the exhaust clams work fine if you don't have a steel ass driveway or hit speed bumps once in a while.

Ive had or installed the GMPP, Hahn, Mandrel, cheapy ebays, ad Corsa.

The GMPP and Hahn fit the best without question, Corsa fit very nice, Ebay fit ok, Mandrels fit like crap, or not at all in some cases.

On a 2.2/2.4 I like the GMPP Touring a lot. Nothing else(except borla which is the same) is really worth it imo

HOWEVER, on an SS/SC, the Hahn is absolutely amazing. It is by far the best looking, best fitting and best sounding exhaust ive ever heard on an LSJ. I had a shorty header and a stock DP with the Hahn, and it was just awesome.....I really describe how much I loved that exhaust.

I have the Hahn on my car now as well, and its just as good if not better than the GMPP was on the 2.2

Hey I know that car. The mexican autobaun is great.

I've seen his exhaust and it looks really nice. Sometimes on some products it's a hit or miss.

Have you ever considered buying prebent mandrel pieces and taking it to a exhaust shop to make one. My bud down here did that for his 3in exhaust and spent way less then $500

one of the corsa techs explained it to me once but it was way over my head. he said cost effectiveness for them, it would do no good to offer anything that would retain the heat inside the exhaust, so they concentrate their design on minimizing any bends and minimizing the amount the baffles disrupt airflow in their resonators.

the baffle part made no sense to me, because it seems that you would want it to disrupt the airflow and bounce the sounds inside there, then he went on and clarified it saying that the airflow is not connected to the sound waves.

then i finally understood a smidgen of what he was explaining

Maven, what shorty header are you running? Hahn?

And Hahn's the exhaust i want to run, but their DP isn't 3". Just not sure if the stock DP will hold me back on the TVS.
