max stock psi?

Hey guys I am new here and I am thinking about getting a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC. I was jst wondering how much psi of boost the stock SS/SC comes with and how much can you increase the psi keeping everything stock? And if I do get it do you guys think I should get the GM stage 2 at the dealership or should I wait and dave my money?

I was going to turbocharge my Neon SXT but the kit is extremely expensive and I noticed that the Cobalt's upgrades a hell of a lot cheaper!

comes with 12.5 psi stock,,, I"ve been pushing over 20 psi for months with not problems other than sheering both my axles in half at the track

12.5 is the stock psi, stage 2 gets you 15psi, I have a 2.8" pulley with the stage 2 and it is around 16.5 psi with a hell of alot more torque. throw in some bolt ons and you are in the 250whp range with stage 2 & 2.8" pulley with intake and exhaust.

There was a thread earlier, about someone named Got Boost or whatever his name is.. and he took money from someone..then never responded to pm's emails, but took the money out of the paypal.. guy who sent the money was buying his rims, and he hasn't gotten a response or tracking number or anything. Ok so I just got my SS/SC used with 11k miles on it and even standing on it I only see like 10.5 psi on my guage. Should I even bother taking it to the dealership to have them check it out?

Maybe I will do the airbox mod and see if that changes anything.

my car peaks around 16-16.5 psi with a stage 2 kit, airbox mod gave me about 1psi more otherwise stock.

oh at 11,000 miles...??? or KM... if KM could be still not fully broken in yet,,,, or it's just broken...
put your key in the on position, check boost gauge... if it's not dead at 0 then the gauge is just off

11k miles. sorry. I'll check that with the boost guage in a few minutes. boost guage reads dead on zero with the key on but car not started

lol I am not the same guy!
12.5 psi stock is pretty good compared to the 0.0 psi I am getting now...

Who here thinks the Cobalt-Addiction Stage 6 kit is a waste of money? I mean its like $300 more than the stage 5 kit and it is only about 5-10 hp more...

Oh yeah, I hope this isn't a stpuid questrion but, can gm sruperchrager fit dodge neon or not? will it tkae lot of mosd?

Isnt there a huge difference in the price of the cars? I mean, wont it be counter productive to get rid of a cheap car with cheap payments, and go to more expensive payments?

I stripped most of the mods off the car (going turbo real soon) and anything can fit on anything if ya got the money..

and to anyone else I should have the complete s/c setup for sale soon,.. stay tuned

2006 cobalt sc/ss is $17,979

Question1 15lbs of boost for stage 2 then y is there only 12lbs for that used car that i almost traded in for today and the dealerguys told me it had stg2 u think its bs or no ECU recal or is it the corsa exhaust?my car=06 ss2.4 12500 miles auto, moonroof, pioneer, ashtray their car= 06ss 2.0 9000 miles stg 2w/ recaro and lsd, corsa exhaust, eibaich sportline lowering list price 19699 Heres how it went down:
them: we'll give ur car a 12699 trade in which would be 7k difference
me:5500
them: ok(goes to front desk comes back) we'll meet u in the middle at 6299 difference

It's been a year and 12540 miles later and i still must have the original SS Cobalt...
