mechanicle boost gauge

mechanicle boost gauge

i installed my mech. boost gauge tonight and after 5lbs of boost it reads extremely erratic. also i never see 12lbs only 8-9 when its readable. i didnt use the line provided tho i used vaccum hose could that cause it?

you need to use the line provided. vacuum hose will flex and distort the readings. the line provided (acrylic?) does not flex, and shows consistent and correct numbers.

the stock gauge is slow and has a lagto it (just like all the other gauges on the cluster). With my mechanical gauge, i can tap the gas very fast, and have my gauge show 5psi before the engine even makes a sound. I'll make a vid some time if you like...
i hit peak boost at any RPM instantly...and my gauge can actually show it. Thats all it is really
I can do a -20inHg to 10PSI to -20inHg probably faster than your gauge will show you getting to 10PSI

i switched to the line provided and it didnt change this is a 30 dollar equis boost gauge think its just a chepo and dont work well?

thats not where i tapped my boost gauge off of. i cut the vacuum line coming off of the intake manifold and put a "T" in it and ran my boost gauge hose from there
