dude use the search....that will not have anything to do with you running a smaller pulley on 42 lb injectors.your injectors will get stuck open..you need 60's

go 60's anything below 2.9, some people will tune 2.8 on 42's but, to be safe go 60's, plus it leaves you room to play with if you want to go to a smaller pulley

i ahve 42s and 2.8, run fine, just dont do back to back to back pulls..

Honestly i would be more worried about heat soaking with the 2.8 than going over on your idcs... But since you have meth you would be fine..

BTW static is being stuck open, and being stuck open is static... so it doesnt really matter...

And also, i woudlnt go under a 2.8 due to inefficiency...

You can get away with 42s on water injection but that can be pushing it too depending how lean you tune it. I am on 42s and a 2.9" and I push close to 90% duty.

Don't run under a 2.9" on 42s. If you want the boost, get 60s and play it safe. You can make plenty of power with 42s on a 2.9" if you tune it right.

area47 says he can make more power out of the 3" or the 2.9" with 42's then the 42's and the 2.8 so i 'd say either 60's cooling mods and smaller pullies and a tune or a 2.9 and a tune

I know personally on my car it will never see a 2.8" without 60s. IDCs are just too high. You get 60s and will be set for just about any pulley you want.

Unless you are running ungodly lean I don't even see how that is possible. Post up a log of yours sometime Id like to look at it.

i run 2.8 pulley and have been for 23k + miles. trust me i drive it very hard and also now have 45wet shot.

still on gm stage 2 tune.

everyone says it is bad, but to this day i have yet to see a cobalt blow up off only gm stage 2 tune + 2.8 pulley. i am sure you will be fine.

also my buddy in his cobalt has 30k + miles on 2.8 pulley. just little reassurance for you.

good luck with whatever choice you pick.

well, if search sucks and it is a pain in the ass, then you just gave me perfect reason to be an *******. This topic has been covered many many times. We don't need newbs whoring up the forums with repeated threads. SEARCH, or get lost.

my car is running 42's and a 2.8 right now, and you really cant get the power the car has to offer and stay at a safe idc. At least not from my point of view. I'm just taking it easy on the car until I can afford to do a swap, but i'm gonna go to a 2.7, Meth, H/E, Dual pass, and 60's, and buy a header to complete my exhaust, and get rid of the AEM cold air and get a full intake.

Sometimes though, if a topic has been covered too long ago, you can no longer search for it. Why does it matter anyway? If it gets you that pissed just dont answer his questions... in my opinion it would have taken longer to write that response than to just go look at another thread and not bother with it.
