Meth Question (a good one)

I'm using -25* washer fluid for my meth now. I haven't noticed a big drop in iat's, maybe just a few.

I can run a LOT more timing though with it.

Do you guys think it would be worth it to run straight distilled water, or a higher water vs methanol mix to lower my iat's and reduce timing a few degrees or keep it how it is now?

They're low 150's now during WOT. I have no idea what my EGT's are.

You might want to stop using washer fluid, buy your own meth (very cheap) and mix with with distilled water.

Since you want it for more of a cooling property, do a 50 50 mix.

YOu can run more timing and/or boost but you'll always make less power. You need a high % of methanol to make any real gains and no washer fluid will cut it.

Bullshit. I saw awesome gains just from -20* washerfluid and my tuning. I was only running a 3" pulley also. The only difference I saw from increasing the methanol % was richer afr's.
I constantly run 24* of timing on washer fluid also. No hint of KR under load.

It would help if you told us exactly your mods instead of the vague list in your sig. When are you seeing the IAT2 shoot to 150*? cruising? idle? W0T? What pulley/boost levels are you running? any other cooling mods? Exhaust mods? How much timing?

Alright, I'll get more specific. 2.95" pulley, I'm at 22 degrees of timing at 13-14 psi with no knock. I retarded the timing a little bit because my ringlands are fragile. (I have an L61)

The 150* is at full throttle, full boost. Full 2.5" exhaust and a dual pass endplate.

What kind of AFR are you getting?
14psi is not a lot of boost. and a 2.95" shouldnt create that much heat. make sure your meth is actually spraying, the nozzles and check valves sometimes clog.
Also check your heat exchanger pump. sometimes they quit working and you need to tap them with a hammer.

im running stock pulley on the tvs, 75/25 meth mix with a 7gph nozzle...timing is 24*...21psi of boost, afr 11.9 with no knock. I think ill stick to meth and not windshield fluid
