blower housing question
blower housing question
so im in the process of porting and fixing my spare blower. the needle bearings need to be replaced, which is fine. however, the rotors are pretty chewed up as well so i was wondering how difficult it is to simply swap over current rotors on my stock blower to this snout area. the reason i want to just swap the rotors and not just the whole snout is because his has ceramic bearings in it.
hmmm...good luck what we did on my buddies was just swap out the center section the rotors are connected too, not the housing, not the snout, but the section that the gears are actually on, took that and replaced his bc his rotors we toast and had some cracks on them...
so you took the whole center section with rotors out and replaced the whole assembly? did you notice if the bearings were in the snout still in the part you took out?
yes, we took the whole center section and placed it in his current blower bc his rotors were bad, wish we took pics, i was actually going too
but didnt think they would be of any use to anyone lol... the center section consisted of rotors, center plate, and the gears...here's a pic of what we did hope it helps...
u may have to take it all apart than...bc i couldnt get the rotors off...didnt even try in fear of ******* something up...although i would assume if you started removing the gears you'd be able to see what hold the rotors to thehousing, although u'll have to do this twice, once to get your rotors out your new blower, and again to swap them in to the new one...
bearings are in the snout, you can swap out the lower housing (where the coupler is) and just use your rotors and my snout and all will be good. and I will have the needle bearing out tomorrow, they are sitting on my desk at work and I keep forgetting to ship em lol

paul you wouldnt have any of the oil laying around for it would you? i would assume if i dismantle the whole thing its going to need oil right?

yeah ur oil will spill over, if its still good oil u can catch it and re use it, we did that...caught it with a holder under the blower as we seperated the hosuing from the snout....that fill it back when assembling it, be sure its clean of any contaminents though...
