meth vs heat exchanger

is meth enough on its own to keep the iat2's down for a 2.7/2.8 pulley?

Why not both?

You can never have too much cooling.

60s, 2.8, meth, and an OTTP h/e=win

i would like to but the budget might not allow it... thats why i want to know if meth is enough on its own...

Personally I would get the H/E because that is always there.

ye thats a good point, but im going to be very careful to make sure the meth is always there, assuming that it is, does it cool the iat2's enough or is a h/.e needed also for a 2.7

you would need the h/e and prob dual pass too, you cannot get too much cooling in these cars esp if you want to raise the boost.

you might just stick with a smaller pulley. less heat and if you can get tuned well, same power for the most part. will save you some money there

The heat exchnager you would want first, as it has already been mentioned you are constantly working to cool your charge then, where as meth is only when you reach a certain psi/freq.

I would personally go with meth. It will keep your iat2's lower at wot going down the track then the heat exchanger will. The meth will only be spraying when your in boost/wide open throttle but that is when you need your iat2's the lowest.

If you can afford both I would go with both, if you can't then grab the 2.8 and meth and then later on grab the h/e. Or if you want grab the 2.8 and h/e and then later on grab the meth. Just make sure you watch your iat2's if you go to the track. Using only a h/e as a cooling mod for a 2.7 isn't a good idea, plus your over spinning the blower with a 2.7 pulley. Stick with the 2.8 and grab some meth.

also meth will allow you to put down more power.

i say it depends on what you want, its scales like this.

safer or colder
cheap or expensive
reliable or more HPs
always on or just when you want it the most

personally i run meth and havent gotten the heat exchanger yet.... i plan to

Depends on your use.

dual pass or single pass, option b, h/e, 60's, 2.8. In that order. Get the cooling done before the power. I didn't even notice a rise in my temps since I had all that **** done and overwith.

How isn't it? Meth keeps the iat2's down and lets you increase your timing creating more power. It's a win win situation. Meth>all.

Ok. "hey iat2's, if you had meth being sprayed at you, you would be even lower!!"

Meh I'm fine with 10 above ambient crusing.
I know what you're saying and know the point of meth I just don't really like the process.
Not really worth it till you get into REALLY low pulleys anyways IMO.

Ya but your wot temps could still be lower, trust me. This is coming from a guy who has every cooling mod in the books, minus the killerchiller because I don't feel its worth wasting my money on lol.
