Methanol Injection and Spark Plug Temperature (a Question)

Okay-

So, I had my spark plug mishap - https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/one-these-not-like-other-137196/

Anyway, while I was at the part store buying new plugs I had a question come into my head.

Is the colder plug still a good idea once you start spraying methanol? The methanol is raising the octane of the fuel and fighting detonation so do you still need the step colder plugs?

I bought a set of stock temp plugs AND a set of colder plugs while I was there because I couldn't deside!..lol

I say stay with the step colder it will help since you have raised the cylinder pressure more then stock

We already answered your question, and LSJ said to go with the 2-step colder

Well.. i was hoping for a response along the lines of.. "I've tried stock plugs with the meth injection and i get "x" amount of knock" or "I went back to stock plugs once I got methanol and it didn't knock at all any more!"

Experiences rather than guesses..

Don't get me wrong I do appreciate the input! And I'm running the colder plugs with the "just to be safe" attitude already.. I was just hoping somone had logged some pulls one way or the other..

Eh when you start doing mods with stock plugs that safe zone goes away QUICKLY. So i mean you can prolly more then likely either go to the fact of saying "hey i am gonna try and run it this way until something blows" OR say "Hey i am running good stuff with little to no issues what so ever"

I ran my step one colder coppers to the tune of 25 psi and 21* advance and saw no knock. I then went to 28 psi and was knocking so i pulled timing down to 16*. I would suggest staying with step one coppers for a anything on the m62.

What do you notice between the 3psi compared to the difference in 5* of advancement?

1 step colder is fine, and no you wont have issues from being to cold with meth spraying.
your m62 heaton will keep things plenty warm

So really... there was no point in upping the boost because you had to dumb down the engine anyway?

Thats kinda what im understanding.. i think.....

heat/knock/poor flowing intake and head were all part of that eqaution. If the car had still be together and recieved a nice flowing head pissing the carand intake it would have made some serious power on 25 psi 28 is just pissing it off.
