My buddy was telling me about this standalone system. I think it can work with the SS. They put it on a Mini, so it works with supercharged cars.

All the computer parameters are different with GM, Subaru, Ford, ect. Who will be the first to blow their car up with this? lol

It's not because we're supercharged that we're having problems with stand alones, it's because of the drive-by-wire throttle.

and its not just the drive by wire that we are haveing a huge prob with its b/c the ass' at GM put a hefty encryption on the code so its really hard to break right at the moment for people, but its starting to unfold very slowly

maybe if someone could get the code we could start an unfolding program.... the power of 1000 computers is much better than a person trying to crack it

that's almost as much power as the 400 cpu avalanche system i have access to

too bad it would take a massive amount of programming to make a beos version and a windows version of a folding program

it's a great idea... but the logistics behind something of this nature would be huge, and i don't think it would be necessary to do soemthing on this scale because any gm code owuldn't be over a 128b encryption.. it's not like it's a national secret now if it was like a 2048pkey encryption then we might need a wolfpack processing the code

The Minis are drive by wire as well.

He's got most of it. I beieve he was on the forums about a month ago looking for a little more information. And yeah there are other cars that are drive by wire, but as far as I've inferred from my readings it the combination of that and the locked up ecu that have been giving the most problem with stand alone's.

Hmmm it's REALLY looks like the PerfectPower Piggybacks products (standalone and SMT-7).

Yeah thats the Power Perfect PRS-2/4. It's there standalone engine mgt system. Everyone I have talked to says that standalone isn't suitable for any daily driver.
