MOD Line Up!

Ok looking for feedback on this...

Heres what im getting, i want to be able to take STI's and Evo's with my 2006 Cobalt SS/SC:

1) Fujita CAI
2) GM Stage 2
3) DC Strut Bar
4) Tri-Phase Chip (http://www.nextlevelracing.com/Triphase.htm) *Please someone tell me if this is a scam like the Turbonator. It looks legit to be. And is the Reflash the same as this?*
5) Exhaust, ive been doing some research and i find out that the exhaust, even the Corsa is about the same size as the stock exhaust? So in total you'd only get a 2WHP gain out of it?
6) WEAPON R Engine Damper

Feedback? Suggestions? Ideas?

if u have an 06 cobalt the weapon r torque dampner will not fit, it was designed for the 05 cobalt and the motor mounts have a different surface. i wouldnt go any bigger than 2.5 on exhaust.

1) Great intake, have it on my car and I LOVE it. Check engine light is manageable, just dont' over oil the filter or allow it to get wet.
2) Good buy for the money
3) Will have absolutely no bearing on performance as far as speed/traction goes
4) SCAM of the highest degree. And not needed with Stage 2, if you want further tuning, go with HP Tuners.
5) Exhaust isn't going to give you MUCH gain, but it will give you SOME high end torque.
6) I've heard better things about the Ingalls ETD.

You're on the right track, but depending on your car (LSD or no LSD) you're probably going to want to do some more traction mods.

as for taking STi's and Evo's.. nah. u need an intense kit and some custom tuning. and that is to take stock STi's and Evo's

dont just look at the diameter of the exhuast, it also has a higher flowing resonator and muffler. you usually dont buy a catback if you are out soley for performance tho... the sound is just sick.

STAY AWAY FROM THAT CHIP

I own an Ingalls egnine dampener, and i've heard a lot more feedback aobut it on the site. that is my recommendation.

With just a Billetflow 2.9" pulley you can beat EVO's and STI's... just not from a dig.

-Fujita CAI - Definatley a good choice, however the Injen and k&N are awesome too, my buddy has a injen, and the K&N has good feedback...
-GM Stage 2 - definatley!!
-DC Strut - Not a bad choice, thats what i want to get...
-Chip - NO, thats a scam, you can jus tell by looking at it (17 hp) is it worth it?
-Exhuast, Corsa touring! I love it, dont just look at the diameter, it has a much higher flow and increase the HP by 12-14 whp, not bad at al...
-Weapon R dampener - Nah, i herd they dont fir the 06's But im not 100% sure, go with the ingalls, good feedback on that, just ordered mine, cant wait...

Hope that helps???

Alright if you do want to keep up with evos and sti's then you will want to go with an INTENSE Stage 5 kit or Stage 4 w/2.5" pulley (www.INTENSE-Racing.com). An Ingalls Torque Dampner, A good cat back system (magnaflow or corsa), CAI and some wider wheels and tires. Oh and once you get the wider wheels and tires you might as well count on a set of larger front drive shafts because they like to snap, INTENSE supplies these as well.

If you got the cash you won't regret these mods.

What other mods would you recomend for better traction control. I dont have LSD and ive been looking around but i cant find aftermarket parts for it, or and other after market parts for control. Only a Front Strut Bar not even a rear. know of any good mod sites, other than ZZperformance and Cobalt Addiction?

You're going to want to get Control Arm Bushings to support a Torque Dampener. Or something like it. Check with INTENSE - they sell a LSJ Suspension Package.

time out i gained 12whp over stock w/ my custom 3" catback with an ultraflow muffler. depends how much modding your gonna do I would do 3" b/c any back pressure from exhaust not getting out is going to hurt you.

my thoughts exactly

and once you modding at this level, you'll start to see more and mre gain from a 3" as apposed to a 2.5".

2.5" is perfect if you don't plan on modding much, otherwise go 3" and you'll never have to worry.
