Modification questions

First off, I wanted to say hi obviously im new to this forum and I am also new to the Cobalt SS world, I just purchased an 07 Cobalt SS with 33k mi on it. I've always been into mustangs, (owned an 01 Gt w/ V1 on 15psi and an 04 Cobra with all kinds of goodies...) Anyways im looking into getting the zzp stage 2 or 3 kit but I had some questions regarding it. First off Im stationed in California so Im not sure if these kits can be sold to someone in Cali cause of all the emission restrictions here.. I will be registering the car in Colorado so I can have it sent there and I wont have to worry about smog testing..

Another question is which would be the best kit to go with only having 91 octane fuel available? Also what supporting modifications should I do, I really wanna keep the stock muffler if possible cause i really dont want a loud exhaust. I want to get a CAI but ive been reading that some of them cause problems with CELs, so which would be the best one to get? Any other suggestions/imput would be apperciated....

Thanks,
Mike

There are already 2 other threads about this, please take the time and read through them. I'm sure your answers are there. Also these kits are smog legal as long as you stay catted, and stock catback. I suggest ZZP all the way.

Yeah you won't have problems with emissions as long as you stay with a catted exhaust. (catless sounds like poo anyways on s/c cars and there are minimal gains.) I have an Injen cold air intake, and I don't have problems with CEL's.

ZZP says that if you are using anything below 93 octane to use a 2.9 pulley in their stage 3 kit. I have that kit on my ss/sc and I live in Canada (shitty gas) and have no problem with this setup and a 2.9 pulley

I run 93 to 94 and still am on a 2.9, but I don't have a header or dual pass yet. So a 2.7 is in the works maybe next year.

i disagree, CAI and a DP w/highflow cat. Then if you plan on going further with the car cooling mods. otherwise it's a waste IMO

I totally Agree with Boosted05 the Stock Cooling is Fine for Minor to Intermediate Mods, I have AEM CAI and GM Stage 2 and I have No Problems.

Yes get dual pass. Also an aftermarket heat exchanger, but go big like the stage 3 from zzp.
