monza exhaust by pacesetter?
monza exhaust by pacesetter?
ok i was just going through the different exhausts and came across the monza exhaust and was wondering why it is so cheap, only 199.00 and fits the 2.0 it says its a 2.5 and what not and diddtn know why its priced so low and i havnt heard much about it. so if some one can inform me on this exhaust and why not a lot of you people have it that would be great. peace

it's because it's not stainless... the people that have it love it, the people that don't have it hate it... the only reason given for not liking it is rust... it will not however rust any faster than your stock exhaust will... also, depending on how long you plan on having the car, rust will not be an issue...
It's cheap because the exhaust is not made of satinless steel. It is just painted so it will rust pretty fast. It's not worth it even at 199.00 because you will be replacing it in 2 years. Stay away from it. Spend 369.00 and get the GM exhaust.

is this proven with the newer systems, or is this just a rough guess?? everyone says it will rust, but i've yet to hear someone say that they had one that rusted out... i don't see how it would rust any faster than a stock system..
that is a question. im so intrested that im gona have to buy it and see how it comes out, i mean dang 200 for cat-back im in for that and its at that point where i think by the time it does rust out, a while because rust dont eat through metal in under a year, i can just buy a better one when companies make them. some one has to do a test on this exhaust and i want to prove that it is a great exhaust and will compete with the gmpp exhaust....in a way
I agree with krzykrl...buying something that helps thats cheap right now is no big deal because say in two years:
1) Do you plan on keeping your SS/RL?
2) Have more money anyways for something higher quality with more of a selection by then
3) Oh and since all the exhausts are expensive right now, in two years they will be much cheaper because the stuff won't be new...like our clutches will be cheaper by then as well.

the tubing used is aluminized tubing , the aluminized coating it there to help protect the tubing , the paint is more or less so it looks apealing when you get it
ive got aluminized tubing on my 68 elcamino , that has been on it since 1987(yes almost 20 years) and only the welded areas are showing signs of rust , i live 15 minutes from the beack in cali , and have lived here in phoenix for the last 7years , so the weather has been good to the exhaust
now those of you that live in areas that use road salt during the winter , you know how harsh it is , and you do what you can to keep it off the body parts by washing it , to keep the rust away , well same goes for the exhaust , a little care and prevention GOES A LONG WAY
with a stainless system , you dont have to worry about it as much , but that really depends on the grade they use , ive seen some mild stailess systems that looked really bad
i know the biggest complaint about rusting was the tip , the tips now are all stainless

well like i said , you should wash it off like you wash your car , i mean just cause you didnt pay 20,000 for the exhaust doesnt mean it should get neglected
but we all know people can be lazy , hell i know i am , lol
but if i lived in a area that used road salt , id have a lift of some kind just so i could wash the road salt off in every knook and hard to get at spot
plus id have a rust bucket beater , just to keep the new car off the salt
