My car is disappointing...

So I went out to speedworld last night. My car is disappointing. Me and steve have the same mods. My best time 14.8@96 and steve's 14.1 (if anyone hasn't heard) I don't know why my car is the runt of the litter. I hope to get dyno'd this week, if it is as disappointing as i think it is i need to fighure something out, call intense or something. I wish there was a place out here to tune our cars, so far no one can do it, and ohio is an awfully long drive for a tune from intense. I should be 14.1-14.4 now and i am stuck at 14.8. I don't think its my driving either, i can't suck that bad, me and steve even switched cars, so i'm pretty sure its not me.

This is what is on my mind at the moment

Wow, 14.8 sounds like a decent run for a stocker. What kind of run did your friend make in your car?

decent.... i ran a 14.9 with my mods at 7,000ft elevation tho

so what were the results when you switched cars? it's possible that you arent quite as good a driver.... and i dont mean that in a way disrespecting your driving (there are lemons out there).

My car isn't stock. I have intense stage 3 and an ingalls torque dampner, granted we are hot here in az. 103 last night, but that would affect his car the same as mine.

I hope it is just my driving actually. It seems it would be easier to learn how to drive better than try to figure out why my car is a piece of garbage.

Yeah I understand that, but what kind of time did you run in his or he ran in yours?

he got a 14.8 in mine and i got a 14.7 in his ( i bogged it at the line) but still ended up with 100 mph so that is a lot more top end power.

u need to verify the results of the driver swap.

..... hard to judge without some honest results.

and since u have those mods, u should be MUCH faster than a 14.8

edit: this was prior to your last post
editII: u need to talk to intense then..... cuz that is VERY disappointing. i would expect to run at least 14.3 at sea level with my mods (and dont forget that tinted, debadged, and neons give me at least 30hp :P)

almost exactly the same

intense stage 3, ingalls torque dampner, 2.5" magnaflow, he has an airbox mod done.

And i certainly don't think the airbox mod is making that big of a difference. I heard it can actually hurt with the reprogrammed computers from intense because they are not tuned to that.

on second thought (x2 i guess :P).... even though u switched cars, you ran his car significantly slower. he ran your car the same. you obviously will not be comfortable in someone else's car. ... just a thought. the 100mph says quite a bit tho.... hmmmm

... im still leaning towards the performance of the car being the issue tho

I understand what your saying, i screwed up in his car at the line ..but still to get 100 mph is huge in my book. i still haven't been able to break 96 mph in my car and that was even when i was running 15.0's.

Maybe you should check your plugs for proper gab and make sure they are clean and your air filter to make sure it isn't clogged.

run at the track more often and make sure the car is not running right. it might be a simple hp tune.

i launched my car with a 2.2 60ft at my altitude and was literally shocked when my gf matched my 60ft after 10 miles of driving my car. when we compared 1/4 miles tho, there was a difference.

i really HATE to discredit anyones driving, especially on a forum when i know NOTHING about the driver. it is just a consideration when you have 'less than sweet' 1/4 mile times considering ur mods.

the fact that u achieved 100mph in a different car that u dont drive every day says a lot

My spark plugs were just changed last week so they definately aren't dirty. and they are gapped at .040. I have never thrown a code saying i am rich or lean. I probably am running lean just from running the shitty premium octane that az has here. And i do race all the time almost everyweekend just yesterday was the first night i had a full night to run with the smaller pulley on.

then def contact intense. i dont have a kit myself, but from my observations, they certainly kno what they are doing. a custom tune may end your probs. every car and the application of the car is different.
