Why don't you two get your own accounts because two people posting in the same account is gay. :P Just to add, my buddies srt-4 with boost issues runs mid 13s every time. You wouldn't stand a chance, and either should she :P When he was stock he put a $10 spring mod on, and hit 13.55, a time you have yet to come close to so I highly doubt you are "ripping" all the srt-4s you face lol. And I am stock except for exhaust and my 60 foot times are better then both of yours... I think you both need to work on your launches :P

Don't take this personally but the Driver mod > stage 3 comment was just a joke.

Just keep practising and get those 60' s down and you'll be surprised, also remember these cars are far from being a track star. Not sure if it was mentioned but switch to some slicks and get some good suspension mods and you should be in 13's.

You guys need to seriously understand what it is like racing here in phoenix. It is hell here with the heat being at least in the 100's in the staging lane alone at 10 pm even. You can allllll bring your cars to phoenix during the spring or summer and you will see/feel the difference your cooler areas give you in terms of performance. Heat affects everything and everyone should know that. I believe when the temps cool here kate will get into the low low 14's or high 13's so will I and steve will break his car again .... I mean he will get 13's too. yeah thats what I meant...

OniMirage, this thread is useless then in her case, because if the temp is so hot and that's the reason for her higher times, whats the point of this thread? If you think its just temperature thats causing all the problems, then good, the thread is useless because you already seem to know what the problem is with her 1/4 mile runs :P

We don't get our ouwn accounts because we live together and we would have to log into the site w/ different names every time, plus it would be hard to find our posts, and everyone that knows our posts now knows that we write together, and i know its is so much work to read the whole post and see who is writing it.

Doubt all that you want that we are beating srt-4's. I am not one to be bitchy and brag about stuff. if i did, i do not think i would start a thread like this. And i just wanted to give you some proof from another thread..

The guy with the red one just moved here from CA, not part of our club yet. I started talking to him about the club and asking what kinds of times he was expecting; he told me 12's... Needless to say, he didn't quite make it... I think his best time was a low 15...ouch to him. Granted the weather was hot, but that affects your car as well

You did a good job driving that night. I wanted to get over to talk to you, but never made it around. I tried to race you once, but we didn't get lined up. I think one run it sounded like your car broke? Didn't see you again, my gf said she thought something had happened to your car. Tell me next time you are headed out there, i have been wanting to see how they do against a pretty much stock SRT with meh driver. We have a lot of SRTs out there if you are looking for people to cruise with to the track. Good kills.

No i didn't take it the wrong way, i just wanted to understand. I kind of figured by looking at your mods and then looking at your times. Thank you

If an srt-4 driver with mods is running 15s, I don't even know what to say about that, except DRIVER MOD FTW. Thats pathetic.

I say all arizona cobalt should take a trip up to canada. I love canada and it seems like they have the best conditions.

Save your money, and go to Texas in the fall! Sea level, perfect weather, best track in the country (1320 ft of concrete )

Also, Kate I think there is something wrong with your car, Steve's running low 14's with the same mods and I'm running mid 14's with intake and exhaust all in the same 100+ degree heat. I don't think its the heat because me and Steve can still get pretty good runs in the heat, I think your cars hurt

Kate does your car have an aftermarket intake? I actually took my K&N off yesterday and put the stock airbox back on, i noticed that the car didnt hiccup anymore and i got better throttle response. I'm taking it to the track tomorrow to see how it runs.

^^ Well i basically got that. Its really easy to start challenges on this site, when all that people are doing is asking for help and understanding about our cars, not telling us that it is our driving, and we suck. That is just childish, especially when i am admitting that it is part of my problem, it doesn't need to be magnified to make me look bad.

It was absolutely nothing you said on here that upset me. (and its just a forum anyway no need to freak out) I just wish that people would stop trying to look "cool" and make others look bad because its not at all necessary.

That is advice, my 60 foot times beat both of yours and im stock. Whats wrong with that? All that means is that you SHOULD be able to bring your 60 foot times down.

Get over yourself. Your 60 foot times are terrible, the only person you can blame for that is the driver. It takes practice, my 1/4 mile time isnt that great, ive only been to the track once with the car and thats the best I could do (for 1/4 mile and 60 foot).

You wanted advice, well, based on what I know, thats the only advice I can give you. When my car that does 1/4 mil a lot slower then your car has a better 60 foot time, something is obviously wrong with the way you are leaving the line.

And once again, all the srt-4s I know run high 12s to mid 13s, maybe you did beat a few, but I can't say that they are the best drivers or know what the conditions are.

Went to the track today and managed to pull off a best time of 14.3 @99 with a 2.2 60'. Changing the K&N to the stock airbox didnt make a difference so im just gonna put the CAI back on cause i gotta have the wine.

Ok, thanks then..I will work on my 60 foot times.

I'm officially over myself.

crazy, yeah my car certainly needs more air, but i think i am just gonna do the airbox mod. There is a lot more i can do with 200+ dollars right now. What are the conditions like where you are running?

Speaking of airbox mod, I have a much easier way of doing it than what's posted in this forum.

Just cut off the airbox snout, widen the hole a little more, put a K&N in, and screw the bottom half of the airbox..Voila!! It's much more simple getting rid of the bottom half of the box, finding a clamp to hold the filter in, and drilling a hole in juussst the right spot so you can get a screwdriver in to get the filter out!
You still get the loud whine, and the top-end is a little stronger.

I wouldnt recommend that unless you have a spare airbox :P If you ever need to go back to stock you are SOL!

Just to add, Sorry if I came across as an ******* :P I didn't mean it that way.

My times aren't that great either, I've only gotten into the 14s once with my car. I didn't think I would even make it there but I just made it :P

All I did was work on my start and try a few different things and finally it paid off for me.
The few things I did were take the spare tire out of the trunk and lower the air pressure in my tires. Less weight in trunk=better wheel hookup!

Here Cobalt8. This is Steve.

We are running subtantially more HP than you are, and that is why our 60' times suck. I actually have to let off the gas in first gear at the moment, because the tracks are so slick here, and it can be hard putting all that power to the wheels. We do not have very well prepped tracks, and stock tires are no good. I have gotten good 60' times, but never in conjunction with my best times.

You may know SRT-4's that run 12-13, and so do we. The conditions out here right now are not good for anybody. When we race it is about 10pm and the temps are well over 100 degrees. We also don't let our cars sit between runs, because we are taking advantage of the practice. I am sure that if we had air temps in the 60's or so that our cars would be even more powerful, but welcome to Arizona. It is hotter here than you might think.

Let's just hold all comments for a few days, until we get dyno'd and then we will see if her car is weaker than mine.
