My car pops out of 5th gear when i accelerate please help!
I have an 07 ss balt all stock except the ZZP CAI. It has 29k on it and has been in for repair once since I've owned it. My problem is the transmission pops out of 5th gear as soon as I accelerate and this is the only gear that's doing that. My repair last time was a worm 5th gear shaft as I was told. This car is still under warranty but I want to be sure this isn't clutch related as the dealer won't replace it under warranty as I have heard. Thank you for any and all suggestions.

Well idk if it is the same problem because when that shaft was worn the shifter its self was loose but never popped out of gear, I was thinking maybe the synchro I'm not to sure though. It better be under warranty I just bought this POS in jan or fed.

my 06 SS/SC did the same thing when i bought it. I now have a Spec 2+ clutch and no issues. IDK if the clutch is covered (prob not) but thats what mine was. DEF put the new tranny in first tho, free is always better. But if that doesn't fix it, GM sells an upgraded clutch for the cars. IDK the part number, but its in the GMPP cateloge.

I have a smilar issue... In 4th gear when i let off the gas to coast the shifter rattles rilly bad and even poped out once...
When i give it gas the rattle goes away...
Does this sound like the same issue or different?

Different, My issue is with my 5 gear assembly in the transmission. Called the stealership today and they ordered parts to "rebuild" the 5 gear assembly and the rattling I heard which seemed very similar to the noise described as a bad sc coupler was the clutch and I'm getting a whole new clutch assembly and my recalled EPS replaced and some other odds and ends on the interior....I told the service writer I want to know whats going on with my car before I sign anything because if its going to be on going I want a new trans and I also mentioned about trading it in for a Ford hahaha they don't like hearing that.
Although the first time I had an issue my shifter was extremely lose and after 30 minutes of driving the shaft inside broke and I couldn't shift into any gear....so maybe your having the same issues just different gear.
