Question My master and slave

Was driving to work friday morning crusing around 40-50 mph went to speed up in 4th and it was like i was in neutral. rpms skyrocketed just like i was trying to rev my engine. Took it out of gear pulled over and tried to put it back in gear. Clutch had no resistance at all (compaired to what it use to be). Had it towed to my mechanic and found out it was the master cylinder and POSSIBLY the slave also. Hence why i couldnt use the cluth to get it back in gear (damn hydrolic system).

Was wondering if anyone else had this sort of problem or a way to keep it from happening again? dont feel like having to pay 1400 again when i could be spending that on other things.

btw got to work an hour late and we had no power at our office. ******* great day!

can you see fluid leaking anywhere from the system or from the bottom of the bell housing? if so, the first step would be to find the source of the leak.

if it isnt leaking, the first thing you should always try is bleeding the system. if the problem persists, then you have a bad master or slave cylinder.

btw i have a new slave for sale $50 shipped

IMO if it's one try to replace both at the same time if you can. i had this happen with my company truck on me 2 years ago, only one was replaced but idk which one... needless to say we've been having tranny issues with that truck since the second part of last year

**** hit the fan again. just had to take it to a mechanic. apparently the clutch disk plate is completely gone. which is kinda screwed up. only had it for 2 years and sadly its 1 month after the warrenty expired. centerforce is ****. not buying their clutch kits again and i'd advise people agaisnt buying them.
