My poor balt is bleeding s/c oil

Well i decided to change my oil in my s/c today. So i take plug out and use the oil transfer pump to get the old out, well there's was nothing in there. So i put in the new oil and close it up, start my car and oil leeking from some where cant find it, but it hits the pullies and belt and sprinkles it all over. What could it be? I have a 05 Cobalt SS s/c Yellow, with 51k, full exhaust and CIA.
Maybe it could be a gasket? wont find out til tomorrow when i take it off.

Gotta be the snout gasket, I doubt you have a crack...just remove the snout and take a look.

first.....I doubt there was no oil in the s/c....or else it would be making LOTS of noise. You need a long thin hose to suck it out if you use the vac. pump.

Second, it's probably leaking out the snout seal behind the pulley.

How much oil did you put in? If you take out the plug does it pour out?

Could be.

Run the car and see where the oil is coming out of!

if you didnt get any oil out, and you put another 6-8oz in, you most likely blew a seal on it. best way to drain the oil is to pull the blower off, turn it, and empty the oil through the plug.

these blowers dont actually require oil changes. its only something we do as preventative maintenance when we run small ass pulleys and do other mods to the blower.

You have to remove the snout from the housing. Don't necessarily need to remove the supercharger from the intake manifold Less than an hour...just need the gasket.

PS eaton says the oil is good for upto 100k, so...

You said you contacted them and it was under the powertrain warranty, then you brought it in and they said it wasn't?

Did they say you abused it, or what? I would go back and tell them that *insert name here* informed you it would be no problem.

You should have never touched the supercharger.. that was your first mistake

Second, How did you ensure it had no oil? did you remove it from the manifold and tip it up so the oil could drain out?? (highly doubtful)

Lastly, 3.5oz is ALL YOU NEED!! any more than that and you risk blowing out seals as you found out..

Where is everyone getting this 3.5 oz number? I easily put in 5-6 oz and had no issues (but I took it apart, so maybe that's the difference).

BECAUSE YOU SHOULD NEVER FILL IT UP TO THE HOLE!!!!

3.5oz is how much it comes with from the factory.. its actually not good to overfill. You wouldnt add an extra 3 quarts to your engine would you? im sure you can physically do it.. but its not good!!

No fill level indicator was placed on the supercharger because it was never designed to be maintained/refilled by the user.

there is misinformation due to the M90(GTP eaton) holds more but is a larger unit

Changing your supercharger oil is like bleeding the air out of your tires and putting fresh air in.

It's wastes your time and doesn't do anything but cause problems.

The oil in your supercharger is good for the LIFE of the unit.

I guess some people seem to think that Eaton doesn't know what they are talking about when they say the same thing.
