my pulley/hub do not fit together

so i bought a smoothflow 2.9 pulley from a guy on the redline forums, and then ordered the gm style stage 2 hub and bolts from nate at smoothflowpulleys.com well i get the pieces yesterday and come to find out they do not fit together. either the pulley center is not big enough or the hub is too big. heres my question.... can i take the pulley to a local machine shop and have them re cut it to fit the hub? or just break down and buy another pulley? i dont wanna buy another pulley because im supposed to put the kit on real soon and it would just make it longer if i have to order another one. thanx for your input guys, i appriciate it!
matt.

it is a smoothflow 2.9 pulley and a smoothflow gm stage 2 4 bolt hub.

i was just thinking, since it barely just dosnt fit, do they need to be pressed on? because if they do then it makes since that they will not fit together by hand.

2.9 pulley

gm style stage 2 hub

them together, notice the center, they barley do not fit

I know sometimes you have to kind of wiggle it on till it slips on.

yeah even with some pressure by hand i cannot get them to fit together. is the pulley just supposed to slide right on the hub or do they have to be pressed?

so i just got home from the machine shop and the hub i bought from nate at smoothflowpulleys.com was not cut to the correct size. the machine shop had to cut a little more then half a millimeter off of the hub. it was cut down to 1.223 in. i had to pay 25 bucks for that too. so i would say if your ordering a hub from nate to double check the sizes when you get it.

shouldn't be, periodic calibration of the equipment eliminates those errors.

my thoughts exactly, i think the day he was cutting the hub it must of been off. so im just stating to those that may need to purchase only a hub from nate to make sure and check it once you get it.

cant wait to get this **** on my car!
