In need of brake options?

So my front pads & rotors are getting close to needing replaced & my dealer quoted me $300 for a stock brake job just on the front & I laughed as I do most my own work & I was looking at the slotted rotors from latoff cheve & was wondering if I should get the stock pads or the ceramic pads they offer?

I am happy with the stopping power of my brakes but I don't think the rotors should be gone at 33000 so I think the slotted/drilled rotors will hold up abit longer. What you you think ?

factory is always good, wont run into any fit issues, 30k isnt too bad for brakes, you sure you need rotors? If you can cut them, you just need pads.

Otherwise EBC makes very nice rotors and pads, along with Power Slot rotors/HAWK pads...

Yea I might be able to turn the rotors but dam there already so dam thin they warp when you look at them or so Ive herd

My dealership stated they installed a set of pads and rotors on some kids SS every 7000 miles & they were warped!

I have never warped mine but I rotate my own tires & I use a hand torch wrench to install the wheels & I don't try abusing my brakes unless I really need to stop!!

I'll have to check out the EBC's are they on the TTR site ?

Yeah we list the EBC rotors on there also, they have been a very popular choice.

Brembo are okay and we do carry them, however the are just a hair above OEM quality...

We wish Brembo would make a dimpled/drilled slotted rotor for the Cobalt.

Not me...

...the stock brakes perform really well. The time attack cobalt only had pad changes done to it - other than that, it was on box-stock brakes.

I am only planning to upgrade the pad, rotors, and move to stainless steel lines when I upgrade my brakes...thats it.

I road course race mine. I have had no rotor warpage, overheating or warping rotors. The stock brakes aren't bad.

I finally received all my parts and will be installing in a week or so...StopTech slotted rotors with Hawk HPS street pads. I like the factory brakes other than the OEM pads seem to eat away at the stock rotors. I think this problem will be elimiated with the StopTech/Hawk combination.

32000 miles with some road course trips and I never had problems with the rotors warping.
