need help!!!

I bought a crashed 07 ss sc with 12k miles. I am close to hitting the road with it and it is throwing this set of codes ;
P0365 Exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit ECM
P0366 Exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance ECM

I have cleared them out and had my dad hold the sensor plug into the sensor and it fires right up, but the second time it throws these codes. If he doesnt hold it in it takes awhile to fire. i checked the plug and all the wires are good. Would this be the sensor itself and how hard are they to change?
