need help with catless and emissions

i live in newyork...so i need to pass newyork emissions test...i want to go catless. so my question is, is there anyway to pass this..other than them checking to see if there still one on the car, does it show up that the cat was deleted when hooked up to there computer and if so.can a tune make the computer read a cat still being there to pass the inspection

NH they dont check. They just plug in the computer and scan for codes. No codes = pass. Make sure your DP has an angled bung and you should be fine.

If they physically check for a cat then get a hi flow. If they don't, then get catless. If you get an angled O2 bung it will pull the O2 sensor out of the exhaust enough to make it read lean, which will make the ECU think that the cat is still working. You can also get a tune and remove the cat efficiency code.

FYI, doing either of these things is technically illegal.

i am a state inspector here in VA. down south we dont do emission testing, but we check to see if theyre there if not you fail. And i dont care what TRICKS you guys think you can do you may fool the pcm but you arent gona fool that five gas analyzer that checks for every contaminant there is in your exhaust mixture

True, however almost all inspections only use the ECU for a Pass/Fail check. I know that California is much more strict and I think they may do exhaust gas checks plus ECU checks, but everywhere else is pretty much ECU only unless you have a pre-OBDII car.

Or get A "test pipe" made and swap it back and forth for inspection time.
