need help deciding about exhaust or not...

i ordered a vibrant header/downpipe combo the other day, finally, and now am trying to decide whether or not to do the whole exhaust like i'd originally planned.... last year. the biggest thing i'm wanting to avoid, which is making me hold back just enough, if i don't want to sound ricey at all, though because there's are 4-bangers, they're going to sound a bit on that side no matter what.

i've been looking mainly at the gmpp touring, and that's pretty much where i'm gonna go. i've tried finding a video of the corsca exhaust (both touring and performance) just to hear what they sound like. i'm also curious to know what the vibrant header and downpipe are gonna do to my car's tone.

i'm looking for a nice, deep idle, and something that sounds aggressive when i open it up. i'm not looking for all-out loud. the 2 i'm really considering are both gmpp and both corsca's, leaning heavily on the gmpp touring.

You would be better off getting a resonator welded in...

My GMPP touring with just a catted DP sounds unreal. It is deep and has a great tone at idle and low RPM. It's just too loud for me when you mash it ..... don't get me wrong it sounds great .....i'm just too old for the noise . I love the gurgle it has when you let off thou. I'm thinking of putting my stock exhaust back on so if your interested in a touring with about 7K miles on it ( stored winter's /no salt or sand) let me know. I have both tip's too (straight and angled) too.

You have to replace the stock res then too cause the inlet is 2 and 1/16th of an inch. A big restriction in the stock catback, worse than over the axle.

i actually ordered the touring last night and it was shipped out today. all the videos i've seen on youtube, i just really like the sound. the header/downpipe should arrive tomorrow, then hopefully early next week the catback will get here and i'll get it installed within the next week or two.

i saw a video of the vibrant exhaust. sounded decent inside, but i hated it from the outside. so, i'm hoping i like this setup, and i hope it gives my car a little extra kick. hehe.

It will, when i did the downpipe it could feel it . I measured the stock DP inlet at 2 inches, so you could have any catback in the world on it and the one bottleneck kill's it . Opening up the DP was nice , i can't imagine a header .

Only thing i don't like about the GMPP exhaust is it's size. It should have been designed 2.5 inch.

Yep , i just measured this last night and made a post about it . I was really shocked no one has ever measured it before . I was going to put the stocker back on because my car's getting loud with the new DP. It's easy to check for your self , just unbolt two bolt's where the stock catback hooks to the downpipe and measure the inside of the flange. It's barely over 2 inches .

It's funny no one has responded to the thread i made about it , i was hoping to get the word out cause people have been saying " DO AN AXLE BACK" for years now......... it's going to be hard to change popular belief's

just wanted to post an update. did the vibrant header/downpipe to the gm performance touring exhaust, got it installed the other day. all i can say is, i'm happy. lol. a little farty when i get really get on it, but it's a 4-banger, can't avoid it. but all in all, i'm very happy. and the car DEFINATLY feels like it has more power, definatly picks up a lot quicker, feels better, and the throttle response is a lot better as well, which i actually wasn't expecting. very happy with the setup, and would recommend... even though the catback is only 2.25. lol.
