I have been reading a lot of posts regarding aftermarket mufflers. What I am after is a bit more sound from my exhaust without drone or rasp.

Current mods - Badmab header with ZZP catted downpipe. I am considering getting the over axle pipe replaced as well.

Now to the question ....

I just bought a Jones Maxflow MF1256 with an 18" body length. Will it fit or should I swap it for a Dynomax 17733 instead

Jones is 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" OFFSET/CENTER - 18" MUFFLER - 24" OVERALL

Dynoxmax is 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" OFFSET/CENTER - 14" MUFFLER - 18" OVERALL


Trying to determine if Jones Maxflow will fit or not.

I have a Cobalt SS/SC coupe

The jones will fit, it may require some pipe work though.

I've listend to a lot of sound clips from most of the Catbacks and except for the Corsa (too much $$ for me) amd GMPP they all sound loud to me.

My goal in this case is to remove the restriction over the axle and add a better flowing muffler. I believe the sound level will be slightly louder but not too bad.

I guess I am going to find out with the Jones Maxflow. I'll post a clip when done.

 

Stay away from Magnaflow. Mine sounded good for a few months but recently it has been getting louder. I hate it and if I decide to keep the car I will be getting a Corsa unless I go turbo then who knows but I want my car QUIET.

 

I had a magnagarbage and the damn thing broke off the piping right at the muffler.

That would be dissapointing.....

Hmm the Jones is a Magnaflow knockoff but there were some decent wrtieups too.

Few guys on here like the Dynomax too. The guy who is selling me the muffler said the Dynomax is a much better product.

Maybe I will switch..... Coin toss?
