Need help, strange problem

I was trying to finish someones tune last night (07 SS with TVS), but again had to stop because there is something wrong with his intercooling system.

So we had a few cruises and flashes, and everything was going fine, but the IAT2s were too high, so I called it off because I didn't want anything to get dangerous.

So he went home, but when he tried to shut off the car, he could take the key out, but the car kept running, and started displaying messages on the DIC similar to what you would get when you are flashing a tune with HP Tuners.

So he told me he stalled the car to shut it off, could restart it and everything was fine except when he tried to shut it off, so he just stalled it and went to bed.

This morning his battery was dead, so something drained it.

Any thoughts from everyone what could be causing the issues?

Kevin

that is strange.
I do know ive read instances where people running the tvs with a ton of cooling mods still see high iat2 numbers but i have nothing to compare it to.

Maybe area can chime in here.

as for the car not wanting to shut off.
thats news to me.

Interesting thought John, thank you.

The problem went away when he pulled the lighter fuse.

Does this still lead you to the ignition switch?

This car has a mess of wires under the fuse box, they will be going through them on the weekend to try and figure out where the problem is, they probably wired something wrong.

And the IC pump is running, but I think he has an air bubble or something in the cooling system, but they are going to check it all out on Sat.

he should have an option B tank otherwise all bets are off for air in the system. Thats not a tvs issue thats intercooling 101. Mess of wires in a car is always bad. Back in the day, 05, there were cars that continued to run at Lordstown with key off during checks. In fact if folks hang a lot of crap on their ig. key (carabiner, swiss army knife , church key, chastity belt key , small monkey) it will cause ( and I have seen first hand but not the monkey) the same failure mode, and the switch needs to be replaced...

Thanks for the heads up, I will let them know.

I know the intercooling issue isn't a TVS issue, I was just giving the story on what was going on.

He does have an option B tank. I don't know what this guy does most of the time, I just know that when I realized it wasn't working, I checked the tank and it was low on coolant. So I suspect he has an air bubble in there.

I will mention the stuff dangling from the keys, I am not sure if he does that or not.

It would be a big coincidence though if it was that, and not something that got wired wrong.

no problem. just to mention that the function of a properly installed option b with a restrictor is continuous air bleed. no restrictor, or not plumbed right = no results...all the best and let us know what fixes the "wont stop running" issue....
