Exclamation Need to know if this is normal!!!!

Hello just bought me a 06 black beauty SS 60k love the car but on start ups she has a tick coming from Top passenger side of the engine. It sounds like a lifter tapping but goes away after it warms up but if I kill her and let her sit a bit and start it it does it again. I have read that it could be the manifold. She is stock for now so I know it's nothing that's aftermarket thank you.

My friend had this problem too , he never figured out what it was so he just sold the car lol. Probably is the timing chain tensioner though, thats what we always assumed it was after reading about it.

You should be worried. This is an interference engine, that timing gets off and you can buy yourself a valve job on the head and pistons, if you're lucky...

Crateenginedepot.com sells the new revised timing chain tensioner you need, there's a how to on here and its not that difficult to change. Took me 10 minutes to swap out

It's ur timing chain causing all the noise cause it's stretched. The same happen to me, the guides and the tensioner failed causing it to stretch. Wat ur actually hearing is the chain slapping the cover, that's the tapping sound ur getting.
