Need A New Clutch. But So Many Options
So i am going to be replacing my clutch soon. I've been researching what to get but theres so many different options so i figured id get some feedback from others. My mods are in my sig. Next year i will be running a header, downpipe, 2.5" catback and a 2.6" pulley. Also may do a TVS but thats not in the near future. I want a clutch that can hold up to using drag radials at the track but has a good pedal feel for daily driving. I thought about putting in a lightweight flywheel in there a well while it's apart. Any info would be great to help me decide.

Does anyone know what the torque rating is on it? And the GMPP clutch will take the beating on a track? Like i said i am going to be running drag radials so i want it to be able to hold up.
Lol i like to go fast. I'm going to see how much hp i can get out of my M62. You would think a lighter flywheel would be better no?

I wouldn't trust the aluminum flywheel. There's really no benefit for a flywheel that only weighs a few pounds less than stock.
A.) Aluminum Flywheel can NOT be resurfaced.
B.) Can mess up torque transfer from motor to transmission. Causing more torque to move to the transmission, instead of absorbing it.
There's a lot of reasons I wouldn't get it. Stick with stock, and just resurface it. Good as new.

I have the GMPP clutch upgrade and love it!!! I'd definitely recommend it for someone who has mild-medium upgrades. And you can't beat the price!

I am running mid 12's on TVS w/ bias-ply slicks at track. Running the GMPP and I wouldn't run any other clutch. Will be low 12's soon as I can get more seat time to lower my 60's.
You do not want a lighter flywheel for drag racing. Keep the OEM.

Looking to do similar upgrades and i need a new clutch as mine is still stock and it is starting to go. Is the consensus still good regarding the GMPP clutch option? Its been a few years since op, and wanted to see if there has been any news/issues etc regarding this part...Thanks for the info!

yer cheapest option would be buying my stock clutch
but seriously, gmpp all the way.
also if u need sum parts i got the flywheel, throw out bearing, shift linkage braket, and clutch pipe. u will need a new or resurfaced flywheel so idk if u want one for cheap hit me up
