Took it apart how? Like took the gauge bezel off and painted something or unplugged it? Pic of backwards gauge?

EDIT: I think I know what ur talking about maybe...did you take the needle off the face of the gauge?

I assume you took the gauge apart and removed the needle? If so, you need to disassemble the gauge again and take the needle off and plug the gauge back in. Then, turn your key to the on position and wait about 5 seconds for the stepper motor to settle in place. Reapply the needle to the pin and make sure not to push it down too far or it will get stuck on the face and not move at all. Turn the car on so the gauge gets a reading and then turn it back off. Wait about 2 minutes or so for all the gauges to do their "twitch" into their finaly resting position and then turn they key back to the on position. If the needle isn't too tight, it should zero itself right back out. Also, for the reading backwards part...are you sure you reinstalled the internals the correct way? If you put the internal mechanism in upside down, that would cause it to read backwards. Double check the internals are in the correct way and that the needle isn't pushed too far down on the pin and its adjusted correctly. If those 2 things check out, you prolly broke the gauge somehow and you're gonna have to get a new one.

EDIT: ignore the part about the internals being upside down, it wouldn't matter lol I have no idea what the hell was goin on in my head when I wrote that. Did you manage to cross a wire or somethin? I have no idea why it would be reading backwards. And to clarify, by reading backwards you mean its showing boost at idle and vacuum at wot?

K it normally goes from 0psi to 16 at wot. the needle goes up to 16 right. Well its sitting at -10psi now and going to 20 psi, but the needle goes down. the total opposite way that it should.
I didnt tounch the inside workings of it. I just lifted the face of the gauge to see if there was a light to paint.
Im gonna try to reset it using what you said above.

At idle the needle should point to about -20hg and when you turn the key to the "on" position w/out starting your car, it should zero out. If it doesn't do that, try readjusting the needle position and see if that fixes it. If not, I'm afraid ur prolly in need of a new one my friend

yeah thanks for all your help. I did what you said and it did reset at 0. but it dosnt move now. It just stays there lol. Ive givin up and accepted the fact that I need a new one. Now it is the choice on which to buy. I like the digital gauges, just wondering what is the best and if any directly plug in or if I have to wire them.

Hang on, you may have pushed the needle down too far and it's binding up on the gauge face. I did the same thing with my speedo needle. It would go up to like 35 fine, but after a stop and then going again, it would be sitting at 0 while I was doing 35ish. So something gets stuck. Try takin the needle off again and reseting it like I said (its a pain, i know lol) and try putting it back on w/out pushing it down very far at all...and I mean BARELY put it on the pin

I truly appriciate the help, but I tried that as well. I emailed autp meter about the issue and they said they have no idea whats wrong and have no help to offer me. So looks like I have to buy a new one. I painted the lights and they look so swesome, but it dosnt matter since the gauge dosnt work lol.
