need some feedback

Okay so tomorrow the supercharger is coming off again to get repainted lol........ anyways.. No one responded to my post in the sticky thread so ima make my own thread... we've got quicksteel and I want to plug up the silencer holes tomorrow with the quicksteel. I want to know if there are any risks with doing this?
Also this stuff is good up to 500 degrees and im sure the blower doesn't get that hot lol so im thinking it'll hold up real good. Also the quicksteel will be drying all day due to the painting of the blower... all info and opinions and facts are welcome. Oh and yes I did read all seven pages of the blower modification thread

Bump for the night crew... im off to bed

why?? you want it louder?? are you gonna at least port the blower??

at some point you run the risk of the QS breaking off and going thru the blower/engine. Did you PM the guys that have already done it?

I dont see how it would break off. The breakoff level is 500 degrees and our blowers dont get nearly that hot

break off level? I think you mean temp resistance. anyway, as long as you do it right you should be good, but IMO you might wanna take the blower apart and get the inside of the holes too so its got a base on both sides of the silencer holes.

what color are you painting the blower?

Yes, we were thinking about taking the rotors out for the quicksteel.... and today we are just going to do the whole middle rib part blue (yesterday we tried doing flat black and blue ribs but didn't have enough time to set dry so it kinda got a lil fucked up) then next weekend we will tape off the ribs and repaint flat black so it'll be dry and it looks great with the blue ribs. we had it done but just not enough time to dry so it ran a lil bit

i just read the first post about modifying the blower. as long as you make sure to let that stuff set up you should be good.

good choice on paint; flat black helps to dissipate heat faster

Eaton sais SPECIFICALLY not to plug those holes with JB weld or a similar product and that if you want them plugged have the welded.

Now, personally, I think it would work fine but they made a point to say not to do it with something like that so I wouldn't do it.

why not tap the hole, and put small plugs in them, similar to the ones in diff's and tranny's that you can remove at a later time with an allen wrench? you've plugged them that way, and you don't run the risk of them breaking up and falling in, plus it's not permanent in case you want to change something?

^^^good suggestion, but the only problem is the holes are oblong and rather large for a small plug otherwise you would be right on the money with that idea.
