sorry if someone has posted bout this before i didnt have time for a search. So last night i was racing for the first time in forever lol! i dropped my car into third and my car shut off and came right back on but the rpm gauge dropped to 0 and wouldnt work. Also my cel came on and it my car was making any power like i blew the sc or something. Needless to say i **** my pants but got home! This morning i got up to take it to the shop and everything worked fine except for my cel was still on. Anyone have any idea what could of caused this? And should i still take it into the shop or not if everythings seems ok now? Any advice on this subject would be much appreciated thanks guys!!!!!!

 

my car did the same thing when i blew my cat out, i put the car in second gear gave it some gas and at about 5k i heard a loud bang and the car shut off put in in neutral and tryed starting it but it wouldnt crank over i was still coasting so i pop started it and the rpms and mph were at zero pulled over checked everything over started it up and it ran fine i got a cel the next day driveing to work and it was a cat code, when i redid my exhaust i checked and the cat was gone.
i also heard the the Crank shaft position sensor can cause that aswell, its what i thought happend to mine till i got the cat code the next day

 

ok thanks man i guess ill just go to autozone or something and get the code checked
