Need some input

hey guys I have a few concerns with my car, I just purchased it about a month ago. Its been running funny, it'll idle at around 1500rpm then drop in about a couple seconds of sitting at a light. It over heated twice already, I'm not sure what it could be, but looking closely and reading up on some stuff, I may have found the problem. My car came with a 2.7'' pulley, I read online that if your running a 2.8'' pulley you should be putting in 93+ octane or higher. Where I live I dont have access to that, all I have is 91. Then checking out my car some more I noticed that the injectors might be the stock lsj injectors, not sure yet I have to double check. I hooked it up to my scanner, and I was surprise that seven codes popped up. P0128 p0171 p0133 p1133 p0128 p0133, I think the pulley is causing my car to run dangerously lean. I have a friend with a stock 3'' i will be replacing with, hopefully it fixes some issues, any input or ideas of what else could be the problem???

Find out immediately if you have the stock injectors or not. If you do have the stock injectors, then either get new ones, or throw a stock pulley on there.

The gas may not be your issue. However you're tuned could play a part in it. Do you have a wideband? Interceptor?

& out of curiosity, where is Ghettolanto? Maybe someone near Ghettolanto has Hptuners and could help diagnose your car more

This is why u shouldnt buy a modded car unless u understand the platform, can u contact the orignal owner? Also u need to find a tuner as soon as u can and have them check ur car out, 2.7 pulley is a aggresive pulley that requires alot of cooling mods that u may or may not have. Also look up all the codes u got to see what they are for

P0128 is thermostat is bad
P0133 is an o2 sensor code i think this is the one for the downpipe
P0171 is a lean code it could be from the tune or ur maf sensor may be dirty and need to clean it off
P1133 is an o2 sensor code as well i think this is the one for the header

This info is to just get u started search this stuff to help u trouble shoot ur problem. I used google to find this info so u should be able to find ways to trouble shoot this no problem.

Hey guys still trying to trouble shoot, I looked up the codes and started cleaning some stuff up. I started with the throttle body, it was really gunked up. I'm going to get to the maf next. Looking more into my car I didn't know it was so modded. It has full exhaust intake injectors pretty sure there sixties, 2.7" pulley, with a zzp secondary heat exchanger. That's all from what I can see. I'll keep you guys posted thanks for the support!

Probably has a dual pass, does it have a coolant tank on the left side? If so u have an opt b tank, and curious if he was running water meth check for a throttle body spacer. If he was running meth, and took it off before he gave it to u, that could very easily explain your prioblem, or maybe even the system is in there, and just empty.

run the highest octan available even stock you need to do that

P0128 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Below Thermostat Regulating -PCM

replace the tstat

P0133 HO2S Slow Response Sensor 1 -PCM
P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean -PCM
P1133 HO2S Insufficient Switching Sensor 1 -PCM

you need to check the wiring from the up stream o2 sensor to the pcm and if it is good
replace the upstream o2 sensor if that dosent fix it then i would look at the pcm

What are you using to monitor your temps? If you're using the coolant readout on the dash to give you an example, my average temps while driving(according to my coolant readout) never go above 183ish. Unless I'm sitting in traffic then they can go above 200 but never seen above 210. That's in the Texas heat and humidity as well. I know how hot it can get in Adelanto during the summer, I'm from Apple Valley, lived there for 18 years lol. Small world...
