New 1/4 mile times (Cayuga Ont.)

Hey guys just got back from making a couple of runs at Toronto Motorsport Park (Cayuga Ont.) The temp was 28C with average to high humidity as normal in the Ontario area in the past 2mths. The car was hard too launch out of 1st gear just eased it out if I smashed on it massive wheel hop...shifted at 6250rpm...finished in 3rd gear.

Rt .641
60ft 2.345
1/4 14.700
mph 97.05mph

Rt .698
60ft 2.440
1/4 14.80
mph 96.68mph

Overall I was pretty happy with the results the temp was a little hot but car ran good and consistant...just got get use too lanuching. I talked too one guy in the J-Body club from TO and his buddy has a Black 05 SS and ran 2 weeks ago on friday night with colder temps and ran a 14.4 at 99-100mph so I think with better temps the car has got a mid 14 in it...Also there was a SRT-4 running and best was 14.3 at 98mph.....Colin

Good times! Looking at that 60 ft im pretty sure these cars will hit low 14s once we figure out how to launch them.(I cant launch mine either).

yeah, those 60's are awful, but going out to the track the first time, its expected. First time to the track with me i got just about the same 60's as you . Its definatly a low 14 sec car if you can improve those launches. Just keep practicing

Well as I said the lanuchs are garbage! If I got a 2.1 or 2.2 60ft the car would run a 14.5 for sure plus the mph is good for a mid to low 14 sec time.....I am going too go at night or during the day with less humid temps it kills the hp...Colin

Do you remember the name of the guy from the J club? Was he part of the JCO?
Thats the club I am president of. The J-Body Club of Ontario.
But now w/ the new SS/SC I have, I`m looking forward to an Ontario Cobalt club.
Whatch for it soon!

Tio, i also work in milton (red '05 SS/SC), and a co-worker lives in burlington with another red SS/SC. We could all get together and colour coordinate our parking! lol
yel/red/yel....

I sent you a PM regarding the SOCC - Southern Ontario Cobalt Club. Could use your help. Cobalt owners from our last meet in Vaughan have expressed a strong interest in moving forward with this. Would like to partner up with you to get this club going soon. Hopefully we can hook up soon. Ang

Why don't we try too get a meet close too everybody. I find TO too far too travel I would rather meet in Oakville/Burlington or something? Its about halfway for the GTA and halfway for Hamilton/Brantford area....What does everyone think? We could also have a meet at Toronto Motorsport Park? Colin

I live in Georgetown and bought my Cobalt SS/SC from Richardson Chev in Milton.
I have yellow inserts, that almost makes me a yellow Cobalt.

I very, very, very much like this idea. How does sometime in Septmeber sound? Which day do you prefer, Saturday or Sunday?

If people are interested in going to the races that Colin and I were at.. There will be another one in September long weekend in Montreal.. Me and a few other people are going.. So if anyone would wanna go for the weekend to that let me know and we can arrange a time and place to meet.. It would be like Friday - Sunday (or Monday if you want)
