New car/random questions

so i just got my cobalt about 2 months ago (almost completely stock besides a crappy catback which I replaced) and ive slowly been working on it, correcting minor issues and installing new parts. anyways i saw two things that made me curious and was wondering if you can tell me what they are, and what issues they might cause.

pretty sure its gorilla glue, i dont know if the clamp broke and this was all he had on him or what, but is how should i go about fixing this, or should i leave it?

missing line?

also my biggest question (which i know has been asked a lot, but id still like to hear a little more about it) is a noise coming from the timing chain area. when i stand in front of the car, hood open, the noise is barely audible but when i get closer to that area you can hear the noise, its sounds like a chain spinning but its a little loud, i would think a tight chain would barely be audible at all. im not getting knocking or anything but if its an issue that could cause serious damage i want to fix it.

I had the hardest time figuring out the brake fluid resovoir line as well. You gotta look at it a certain angle from the side...it's there. I believe on the left side. clean the tank and see if you can find it

First picture: There isn't a clamp that is supposed to go there. The hose just stays on the nipple.. I'm assuming it was leaking and the moron just covered it in whatever that **** is...

Second Picture: That is supposed to be capped off. Like a vacuum plug

Biggest question: That would be your timing chain tensioner. You can order a new one from ZZP or CED (Crate engine depot)

thanks for all the feedback! the timing tensioner is the only thing that scares me a little. it doesnt look to hard to replace though. i drive the car to work and back every other day and it drives fine (about 20 miles total), if it is going bad it must not be that bad right now but what kind of damage could this cause when it is bad?

Could be some serious catastrophic engine damage .. lol
Just read the name of the part a couple times.. Timing chain TENSIONER
It prolly won't go bad for awhile.. but replace it when ya can. Not something you have to do in the next 15 minutes though
