New LSJ Cobalt owner, few issues
New LSJ Cobalt owner, few issues
Hey guys new owner here! So i picked up a lsj cobalt but it was only making 3 lbs of boost. Supercharger and engine sounded fine so i bought it anyways figuring it would be an easy fix. Drove home 8 hours fine. Went to Oreillys when i got home and grabbed some vacuum caps and clamps. I unplugged the bottom line from the bypass valve on top of the supercharger that goes to that little electronic deal and capped that and left the hose to atmosphere. Gave it a drive at it makes 12-13lbs now and is a little screamer! Is this the bypass valve that needs replaced? It looks new. The arm seems to move freely by hand. Or is it the little electronic deal? If it is what the hell is it called, what does it do, and what is the part number haha. Also it has code P 0171 and P 1133. I believe for lean bank 1 and 02 sensor fault? He said the car has full exhaust long tubes back. He said he replaced the 02's. I haven't lifted it up yet to look it over with a fine tooth comb. It also has a zzp intake. Other than that i believe stock. Is this from the intake and exhaust without having a tune? Car seems to drive really well for its age. Any help would be appreciated and thank you guys!!
Found out what that part was. It's just a solenoid for the actuator and I have one on order to see if it fixes it. As for the other issues i'm still in the dark. Also if the solenoid for the actuator doesn't fix it not sure either Question
Well i found out the brand new intercooler pump he put on was not working. I did some troubleshooting for awhile and found out it was a bad ground. I installed a new connector and just wired the ground to the intercooler pump housing and it fired right up! Also got rid of both engine codes. However, I replaced the solenoid and it did not fix the boost issue so i have it capped again and it runs into boost fine. I also broke a little hose next to the solenoid that looks like it goes to the throttle body? It is on the same bracket as the solenoid. It seemed to run okay with it broken. I will have to figure out what part that is. What could it be then if the bypass valve is new and the solenoid is new?
